Hello my stagea fellas ,I have a new problem with my car ,most of the time I drive it in tiptronic the water temp gauge goes up ;even when I been cruising on the freeway (no gear changes all the time, like on traffic).

While I drive it on auto the temp is ok...could it be because I relocated the transcooler to the side? Thanks for any word of advise...

Shouldn't change anything. Have u done any coolant change or open radiator cap at all? Wats it coolant level in reservoir? Nd when hot can u feel any boiling from top radiator hose? Sounds more like low coolant. As I drive all the time in tiptronic nd never have a cooling issue. Maybe check if u have any coolant leaks as well

Coolant level looks ok,i took some air of the system using the cocacola bottle in the radiator cap about 3 months ago,I'm thinking about Kiwi suggestion but I nearly always had bad experiences with mechanics ...everything been going wrong since timing belt change(thanks, known workshop...)

Don't take it to a mechanic! I'm a great believer in specialists - radiator, brakes, auto sparky etc. if you have another car you can easily whip the radiator out of yours and take it to a radiator shop where they can take the top tank off and have a look inside and either clean it out or replace it.

+1

1)have the system pressure tested for leaks and c02 test

2) have water pump flow checked

3) try a simple rad flush like mukout/ have radiator flushed. careful of cost as quality alloy ones 42 -52mm think can be found for around 250-300 (excellent cooling)

4) when refilling system make sure the mechanic use a type A coolant as most even specialists use a type B very little if any glycol in type b i recomend and use nulon concentrate (green) type A it has like 1058G per liter of glycol much more than other brands .

see how ya go from there .

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
