Hesitate under boost

Hey Guys,

My car hesitates under boost.

Just wondering if this means my turbo is on the way out?? the car still makes boost but doesn't go anywhere.

So far i have checked the afm, fuel pressure, changed the spark plugs, check the intercooler pipes for leaks. and nothing.

The car is booked into auto complete tomorrow, just wondering if i can check anything else??

davidl, try a search for "missfire" on these forums, you'll find plenty of tips to find and fix this problem....

mine used to hesitate a little due to fuel delivery...like i'd put my foot down and it would pause, just slightly before switching onto boost. An upgraded fuel pump soon solved my delivery problems...wOOt

Just Change Your Plugs To A .9 Mm Gap, Bkr6eix In Iridium Or Bcpr6e In Standard Ngk.

Itl Fix It Ok.

The turbo will spool up, but it does go anywhere and the car isn't delivering the power to the ground. You can feel the pressure but it won't let go.

My ECU has been re-chipped with the boost cut removed and this problem happens at 1 2 psi. it is like the car is serging.

hopefully Dr Drift and Nick will sort it out.

Mate I had a similar problem and tried most normal things,it turned out to be dirty AFM sensors,I dont know about yours but it certainly fixed mine. although I must say mine wasnt revving as fast as it does now also.Good luck.

i also had a similar experience, albeit in my S13, it turned out to be a knackered fuel pump. noone told me it, i just did exhaust, FMIC, and next mod was fuel pump so i did that and Walah! it was like a new car. fuel pump ended up being my favourite mod lol

yeah since you've looked at all those other areas... i'd look at fuel pump and fuel filters, maybe also fuel regulator.

Does your car blow any black smoke when its hesitating?

Hey All,

Well the problem has now been sorted. It turns out one of the welds on the front mount had cracked.

It is being replaced under warranty. So we will be all smiles again.

once i had a crack in the hose that went over the cooler pipe to the airflow meter, and my car totally freaked out, we changed everything to try and sort out what it was, then yeah found that 1 day later... couldnt believe it.
