It was removed last time as it was bagging/slandering a business.

You can post pics, tell your story etc. I dont think there is a problem with that.

Just dont go mentioning any business names, or have the name somewhere in any of your pics.

Get people to e-mail you or something if they would like to know the name of the place etc.

That's my view on it anyhow.

as Gizmo73 said, we dont wanna get SAU caught in a sh(t fight.

*sigh*

Let me explain this again.... I own this site, its directly in my name as a private site, no business or company etc... Basically, if somebody wants to look to somebody to blame for lost business, guess where they look?

Also, dont think I am over-reacting as I have 5 lawyers in my family (3 in my immediate family) and so have received more than enough legal advice about SAU.

If you want to warn people, great - dont name the company and if people want to know who it is, you can email them.

Thanks,

Christian

..the dark side

but there are reasons why exact names can't be mentioned, even if everybody is probably aware of who they are. Unfortunately the lawyers have made slander applicable on the internet, where if you ask me it doesn't belong. But dum de dum, thats just me.

You'd be surprised how many emails/phonecalls i get from different businesses talking about certain threads where they are mentioned in a negative context... even if there was no legal grounds for them, i hate them thinking that I am behind the slander (which it is at the end of the day) just because (possibly) they made a mistake on one car.

Know what I mean?

I know.. when freedom of speech becomes invaded by lawyers it is no longer such.

I can say to my mates, or 50 people standing around "don't go to xxxx" they are crap.. but soon as you do it on the internet you're liable to be sued. I love lawyers. I Love america creeping into Australia. It is the best.

(apologies to prank's family, i am sure they are great people ;))

First off, there is no freedom of speech in Australia contrary to popular opinion. We don't have a bill of rights either; another popular misconception.

I also take exception to you blaming lawyers, perhaps because I have a lawyer in my immediate family. Lawyers are not responsible for designing or enacting laws (ie. legislation), they merely operate within the bounds of existing laws. If you want to whinge about the current legal system, take aim at your friendly politician, because it is they who design and enact the legislation (although technically the design part is often the responsibility of some middle-level bureaucrats).

Edit: I should also note that judges do have some scope for the interpretation of legislation and for the creation of law ("common law") through the doctrine of precedence. However, increasingly the discretionary powers of judges are being legislated out of existence.

well if its America only its even more ironic.

legal companies that "pay on win" for compensation claims? lawyers acting for RIAA going over bedroom file swappers?

all creeping into australia.. and funnily enough now we're finding similar cases pop up in australia.. i spilt my coffee on myself because i'm a dickhead.. is that my fault? hell no! it is the guy whos fault who made the coffee.. i should be protected from my own stupidity and make other people pay for this stupidity.

anyhow, way off topic now.

    • Hi, i’m making Vag coil loom for rb25det, can anyone confirm the wire guage i’m using for power supply in diagram is enough for supply not too small for loom? For earth do i need to follow the same procedure or i can use only 16awg wire for all coil and their connecting wire following to the plug?
    • Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler?  Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?
    • I haven't knocked them down yet. I think I made the repair more complex than it should have been. I had rock chips combined with waviness and dents and I tackled it all in one because it was near each other and just end up wasting a bunch of bog lol. I'll knock down those areas and see how I go. And yep what you are saying at the end is correct. I think I might be sanding the top of a steep hill then my sanding block falls into the dent and gets rid of the guidecoat if that makes sense. Though shouldnt unless I'm covering too big of an area with not a long enough block. I'll try something new and provide some updates. Getting there though! Thanks as always.
    • Yeah makes sense, hard to comment on your situation without seeing what your doing. I was talking generally before, I would not be looking to randomly create low spots with a hammer to then have to fill them.  It's hard without seeing what your doing, it sounds like you are using the guide coat to identify low spots, as you're saying the panel is still wavy. I don't see how you're not ending up with patches of guide coat remaining in a wavy panel? Once the high spots are knocked down to the correct level, surely to have a wavy panel you need low spots. And those low spots would have guide coat still in them?
    • So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?
