GPS tracking is only in the states

Gee Steve, next time we rig up a fleet car or delivery truck for surveillance I'll remind myself that we can't do it :P

We've been doing it for donkey's years bud

The ebay gps car trackers last time i checked cost 199 free shipping easy to install but you must hide in a secure place not right behind the alarm lol

another option is not a pc , old iphone or sim smart phone ,hard wired and buried in car , plus you can bluetooth the music and video to a lot of radios bonus , on standby it has a battery backup that could last days or even a week depending on the settings

A strobe mounted in the cluster and under the car in tranny tunnel or cradle and nobody will take te car , too hard or get at or your blind seeing dots

Iohone you could facetime the crims to say hello , a iphone 4 you can move the tiny camera to cluster facing crim by extending the wires on the plug , the camera module is as big as your pinky finger nail in size and the camera hole is tiny so it would be hard to notice

You can get the viper / python/ clifford/ autopage and other brands smart phone gps tracking but they charge a fee yearly and the gps module is 350 plus install

HMM that iphone 4 camera is a pretty good idea, petty i dont have a spare :( gps seems the way to go i think, something from ebay with a one of payment if they have that?

can these sort of people that steal imports get through alarms and immobilisers with black wiring?

Jin man , ill see if i can find the paper i wrote it down on its been weeks , i wouldnt jump the gun and start punching every white commo vp/vs driver in the face at the stoplight lol even if they deserve it for driving a commo vp haha

i can relay the rego to authorities to chase up if i find it or see the car lurking again

I had some small group of "natives "in a dead stare at my car as i pulled in the drive and that wasnt a nice feeling to wonder if there crims or just like the car

Couldnt just accuse them for no reason but did note it

Black wiring is a waste of time ( but insurance companies demand it) a proper installed alarm system will stop all but the most hardcore thief

Common sense will stop a huge portion of theft

The gps is a standalone unit aftermarket and doesnt need alarm to work you can still disable the car remotely thru sms trigger , a relay and you can do lots to stop the car , even trigger antilock brakes by confusing the wheel sensors , which flicks on the traction control as well on most cars , really you can go nuts with a skilled installer and some cash

Only the modules from direct electronics, autopage etc cost more , need alarms, and fees yearly of nearly 100 bucks less fuss to interface and more dependable but remote start is also included and that was a adr major defect and ghey for australian conditions anyhow ( pure wank factor) so if you get defected for remote start dont blame me , you can rollup windows lock doors and start car , turn on ac , the lot remotely anywhere in the world that has internet or sms

But then your phone needs security as well to stop drunken friends from starting your car and killing your family with fumes in a closed garage

Or your phone gets nicked and they have full access to your car unlocking and disarming and boat loads of other issues too

By proper alarm install what do you mean exactly? i cant exactly remember wat system i have but i bought car from sinergy motorsports and got their recommended alarm system which im assuming was good?

ah k yeah i deff think i need to get a gps tracker and have a couple other backups as well as an alarm/immobilizer ;)

haha yeah will have to protect the phone pretty well from people if i decide to get one! stupid what we have to do just to protect our cars!

Most car alarms / imobolizers are just slapped in as quick as possible with little thought of actually protecting the car, the wiring is shoddy connection pulled off with a yank, and always predictable to location for crims , even from some of the best shops , its all about money and time considerations ( its biz to make money ?) to do a big alarm ( like a skyline of value needs) can take days nonstop to plan, hide, wire, tweak !! but most are slammed in less then 3 hrs cars like honda are even faster a whole system stereo, alarm and custom sub box can be slammed in a day with breaktime still

We used to get a car for weeks to months to do massive alarms and stereos , so hidden even the dealer coudnt find it without stripping the car bare

but every wire was perfect and show quality or 100% hidden into factory looms with kelvar sheath over it , no cutting thru it to Get to wires at all , you would have to unwire the whole thing

and now the newer the car the more you can protect , the interface controls so much thru canbus or fiber optics you can turn off anything via alarms

the black harness was due to the preditable nature of installers locations it made it easier to steal cause they could short the wires even quicker them no alarm at all

Depending on when you got your car from sinergy would depend on what alarm it has , i wont bag it or publicly announce your brand but i do know which one and who did it now

You can upgade it easy

Oh and my book alarms make noise and stop theft ( not always enough points for insurance) imbolizers dont always make noise but protect 3 points in most cases , so my language is alarm not immobolizer , both are the same more or less with different features and points of disabling the car ( 3 points is the standard for insurance in most cases) factory is 1 if any depending on the car

Gps isnt counted for shannons discount i asked already and just cars didnt used too discount for it but ???

ghey cause it takes skill to stop gps cold , most of the time gps has them way before they realize it is on the car unless its "elenor" and vin rhames is stealing your car to ship to china for drift car parts

a new threat asia drift car parts theft ?? It could happen drift is growing in the close asia countries

And.a Crim can take just about any car in 30 seconds or less , now how much time do you leave your car for in a day ? Scared yet

Common sense and care will protect a lot

Good to see it didnt turn out a carbbq

Damn lack of respect , chuck a 20 year prison term on car theft and it will stop

And let crim record follow for life no drop off or not considered if caught twice when punishment time comes

with my old R i think the best thing was a kill switch that had to be pressed while turning the ignition at the same time. a lot of people could not find it and GT autosound could not bypass it. id be doing it again when i get another decent car.

Kill switches are easy to find , once again its a common idea on where to put it and what it disables , might add 15 seconds to the theft ?

It will stop a joy rider but not a real car theft

Rfid is the go for security in a car , you can see it and no pin codes, buttons to push , unless you do no key ignition then its push button start but only if it senses the rfid chip , its short range not scannable unless your right on top of it

You can do a daisy chain of them to control every item in the car and when you walk away it locks it , rolls up the windows , sets the alarm and disables every function on the car , no ignition switch exists so they cant punch the lock and hotwire it, take the door handles off and all locks too use a electronic deadlock and hidden popper to open the door but only functions with the rfid on you , really you can get insane

And i havent even covered the sensors, alerting items, detaining the crim in the car remotely

due to the laws in oz , crims have more rights if they get hurt stealing your crap , they should fix that !!

Ive installed some things in the states that would make your headspin , ferrari with multi lingual alarm , and a led moving banner sign in the 3 rd brakelight you could write customessages and the alarm would rotate the words this car is stolen if triggered via alarm , and a form of tazer ( cant say where but it stops the crim outside the car) and smoke filling the car cabin so you couldnt see anything( check youtube they had a video of the product a while ago) prob not legal here either ?

Dont forget hardening of the door near locks with kevlar sheet and shatter proof glass , clear security tint to stop breaking it open easy

Actually a crack head with a rusty needle hovering around the car would stop thieves too .. Shame theyre to hard to keep from joining the crims Lol

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
