You can get a brand new Xoom from EB Games for $388. That's a bargain if you ask me.

If you are happy to spend more then the Asus seem to be the goods.

I'm going to go against the grain a bit and say a netbook, lol. Half the price of a decent tablet, and twice the power and versatility. I have an acer aspire 1. It runs a dual core 1.5ghz processor. Cost under $300 when I got mine. it runs dual boot android and windows but I never use Android because of the lack of an app market, but I have had a play around on it. Loads fast and is functional.

My missus has the Asus Transformer which has the keyboard that clips onto it. Awesome bit of gear but a little on the expensive side.

Im using the transformer to write this.

Pros:

Decent battery life(especially with the keyboard)

Key board has usb port.

Pad has internal memory, and micro sd card.

Keyboard has full sd card slot.

Pad has micro hdmi out.

Plenty of games and apps from android market.

Can use mouse pad and touch with keyboard connected.

Live wallpapers.

due to extra battery in keyboard, you can charge keyboard whilst using the pad elsewhere.

Cons:

Web browser freezes every now and then, have to press wait.

Limited number of web tabs to open.

If trying to type with on screen keyboard, if you drag fingures a little, swype kicks in.

Speakers not super loud.

Youtube sometimes takes forever to load. Last update made it better, but i find, you have to close backgroud programmes.

I am biased, but the new iPad is sweet.

Considering a tablet is basically a screen, and the iPad has the best screen.. It's the best tablet, IMHO.

FLASH PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!

IPHAIL LOSES AGAIN :)

Agree with this.

Less cost, more usability.

Or if you got cash to burn, you can pick up one of those 13.3" ultra portable laptops around $800-$1k (most will have i3 or i5 & some have SSDs so loading times will be a none issue)

Most good sites use HTML5 these days anyway, Flash is a dying format.

Bullshit. f**k all sites use HTML 5. Sure, it's going to grow and grow and grow and eventually all sites will run it (or HTML 6, 7 or 8) but for now and the short to medium term Flash still runs 95% of the internet.

No Flash - iFail.

+1 for netbook - the difference in usability can't be understated. A netbook is a complete PC whereas a tablet is basically a phone with a bigger screen.

I agree that netbooks are superior. If you do not need the out and out compactness of a tablet get s laptop/netbook.

However, if 90% of the time you'll be using it while sitting on a train or something, get a tablet.

    • So I put it to 3bar (43.5psi) while priming. It stays at 43.5~ as I crank shakes slightly. Ive also tried dropping pressure to see if that changes anything. I replaced the fuel dampener because I was troubleshooting the system along with the stock FPR (swapping them one by one to rule them out). But i only got up to changing the dampener and it started running again. Injectors are stock second hand. I did a bench test on both my original ones and the secondhand ones. The second hand injectors I have in the car now spray slightly stronger than my original injectors.
    • I knew Andy from about then, it did some cool stuff. By 2005/2006 era, he also implemented closed loop ignition timing tuning. In 2004 it was pretty cool, being with him when he was doing automated fast self learning tuning!
    • Im No tuner but…. im running a 25det with north of 600wkw at 9000rpm e85 and water meth. G40 1150 on 32psi. Having a real built head will flow a crap ton more power but you being stuck at 7600 won’t be helping at all, throw all the boost you can and nothing will happen. Solid lifter and 9000rpm is the only way,  I have built my motor 3 times, not from engine failure but more along the lines of my failures in not understanding engine parts better, basic phrase to help, “block hold power”  “head make power”
    • What's the fuel pressure while the car is cranking? Curious, why did you replace the fuel damper? What injectors are you using, are they brand new?
    • I think it's terrible value, it should be half that price IMO. And I'm known as someone who will unironically suggest the GTIII-SS on the RB26 if you have very specific requirements. The GCG RB25DET "hybrid turbo" is 1/3rd the cost of this GTIII-RS kit and sounds like it should fit with zero modifications. Talk to Hypergear as well, maybe they can do something that fits your requirements.
