Hey Guys,

I'm pretty young, 14. My dad said he would go half with me in a Nissan Skyline R34 GTT 1998 Model. I've always wanted one. I'm just writing a list of things that I will eventually get for it. I need help with trying to find these good parts please look Below.

My Colour Scheme for the Car is Black and Silver. The Parts I need are;

Interior

A Matt Black Steering Wheel.

A Matt Black Dashboard thing.

A Pair of Nice Black Seats (Front).

A Pair of Nice Black Leather Seats (Back).

A Good Speedo (Black, but the dials and everything you get the info off Silver).

Performance

Nice Wheels (Silver).

Good Brakes (Silver Cover).

A Good Muffler (Not sure what size, i've seen post that you can loose speed and compression if it's to big so I need someone to tell me a good type and size).

Exterior

A Nice Body Kid (Black and Silver).

Some Cool Side Skirts (Black).

A good looking Spoiler (Black).

Sound

For Sound I was going to get the below but I'm not sure, can you tell me if it's good.

IVA-W520EBT Stereo- $999.00.

2x SWX-1243D Subwoofer - $1398.00.

SPX-17PRO Speakers - $999.00.

PDX-M12 Amplifier - $999.00.

Thanks,

SkyLow. :)

lol, Good aspirations, GTT is turbo im assuming ( sorry not a 34 fan at all)

Interior, You will need to get all of that custom,

Wheels, You choice- No one here really cares for big 18" + chromies if htats what your intending,

Brakes- Stock power you will be fine, Get good pads a synth fluid.

Body kit and spolier, Your choice.

Exhaust, Depending if turbo or not- Either way....Just leave it stock.

Really not the project for a 14yr old, Unless you were born with a silver spoon.

Good luck mate ;) Pm me any questions il see what i can do.

@NYTSKY: Thanks.

@Seano350GT: I'm serious.

@sydking: Yeah I knew pretty much all that, sorry I didn't make my self clear in the post. I was suppose to say do you know any websites for customised parts and/or Yes; They are turbo.

Yeah I can on my P's and L's.

But if it is illegal which I don't think it is then I can get an Exemption.

It is Illegal on both of them as far as i am aware in NSW unless something has changed recently which i highly doubt, so before you start painting all your dreams onto paper you are probably best researching the ability to drive such a car..... The people on SAU are generally a wealth of knowledge and very helpful as majority are owners of the cars themselves (like i am), but at 14 you are probably in the wrong place to start posting new threads, its great to see your enthousiasm at such a young age but do your research on the RTA laws then evaluate what you plan to do.

Yes it it illigal, Yuu can only drive it on your L's And NO you wont get an exeption, $1400 fine and 9 months loss of licene is pretty standard for that offecne.

You will only get an exeption if you live in the bush and need to drive a v8 land cruiser ect or your a mechanic and even then its only during work hours. Seriously dont bother with it.

Get a NA or just dirve the turbo and prepare to deal with the boys in blue.

you can only get an exemption if your in QLD and your car has a FACTORY turbo with a power to weight ration of less than 125KW/Tonne..

Which is a R32 GTR.

But yeah like most of these boys said, you've got years and years to go until you end up getting one. Unless your spoilt and your parents buy it for you.

Good old RTA, allow a completely inexperienced driver roll around in a turbo car :ban:

I'm from Sydney myself, i know that.

We have a 210KW power limit on P plates too. But i have no idea why this law was only intruduced in QLD.. now even more people are going to die on our roads from 17 year olds driving turbo'd cars. The law was only introduced January this year from memory, i haven't heard of anyone that's actually got the exemption but i know that you don't need a reason whatsoever.

Congrats, being from Sydney is a definite advantage when it comes to intelligence!

Yes, p platers can drive a 210 kw VE SV6

Now they can also drive a turbo car up to 125kw/tonne

Better run for the hills and never drive again, a car with a turbo is way more dangerous than a corolla hooking through a school zone!

Has the p plate road toll dropped since the introduction of power restrictions? No.

OP, by the time you get your licence, cars will fly but P platers will only be able to drive ground vehicles, their performance won't matter, as they'll be seen as almost obsolete and underwhelming compared to jet cars. Just buy the GTT now in preparation for the next few years.

The places for all of those parts is supercheap and Bob Jane T-marts.

You can buy matte black paint and cool seats from supercheap and there's also sections full of racing steering wheels and gear knobs, they have speakers, too. The most important thing though; is that they stock cannons. Get in ASAP as their cannons never last long. The bigger the better, buy two and stick one on the other side of the car for symmetry.

They have an array of specialty tools and if you have any problems whatsoever, the in house supercheap technicians can help you fit seat covers and offer you advice on which wood screws will hold that heart shaped cannon on best.

Bob Jane is the go to guy if you want high performance 22" rims and grippy nangkangs that will surely get you stepping out at the roundabout D1GP.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
