Interesting.. they seem to think the M sedan is a 'mid-sized sedan', yet compare it to the BMW 5 series, which is hardly 'mid sized'. I would classify the G sedan as 'mid sized', but the M as 'large'

Agreed !!......

For a mod sized sedan, it's starting to get a little exxy however if they were to market it as a large sedan it would be damn cheap (comparatively speaking). I think to retain to classiness and exclusivity they are marketing it as a high value mid sized car.

'M' sedan is based off the FUGA, which is the Top of the Line sedan in the Nissan line-up, even for a second hand 2010 model you are looking upwards of 60K.

Sorry, wasn't trying to insult, just wanted to point out it isn't just 'based off', it 'is'. like some people say the Murano is 'based off' the Maxima, because it shares the same FF-L platform. Where as the Fuga and Infiniti M are the same car overall.

I mean, why would you bother? It won't increase the value of your car

When I got my V36 in a few months ago, the first thing I did was change the grille badge to an Infiniti without any consideration of what Nissan Australia had in store for us and definitely not thinking the crazy notion that it would add value to the vehicle. Anyone who thinks that simply rebadging their vehicle will add value is fooling himself.

The vehicle was already debadged when I bought it but had it still had the Nissan badges on the rear, I would have simply removed them as I much like the clean look of the rear.

OEM Infiniti door sill kick panels going in next and once they become available here, steering wheels and genuine Infiniti floor mats. Might be a bit of a wanky thing to do but it's purely an aesthetic thing for some of us. Of those, some people do it to show it off whereas I do it for me to admire my own vehicle. Each to their own I guess.

For me, I've just always liked the Infiniti arrow logo more than the Nissan hamburger logo. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Nissan man (well, after Chrysler - Challenger is my poison) but it's purely the look of the logo.

I guess it could be compared to the wankery of those with VE Commodores who whack Chevy badges on them but it's not like Chevy is a prestige brand. At least Infiniti has that going for them.

It's just that when it says Skyline, it seems more 'common.' When it's badged as Infiniti, it adds an allure of something different. Not expecting it to add value, but it would make marketing a tad easier.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
