Any idea on how much it costs for the hardware and software?

I bought the cable directly from UpRev's website.

The generic Osiris Standard package, which is purely for flashing a file prepared by a tuner and emailed to you is US$500. This is limited to 3 flashes - additional eFlashes then cost US$50 each.

The Osiris Tuner package, which allows you to do the tuning yourself, is US$700.

Because we're dealing with JDM, I took the safe approach when I bought mine. The first thing I did was buy the Cipher package for US$200. This was a relatively cheap test to see if it would identify my ECU so that I can then liaise with UpRev to determine if the Osiris package would support my ECU. It did and so the only thing I had to pay for was the upgrade cost to the Osiris Tuner which was just the difference, therefore, US$500.

Forgot to mention: The software is free. The money is all in the hardware.

If your referring to Uprev.

Osiris Tuner is $700 (this one allows you tune your car yourself).

Osiris Standard is $500 (Uprev themselves do the tuning and mail it out and you can update it via PC)

Osiris Flash $300 (You mail in your ECU and they do magic and send it back)

:D

Lol just noticed your post after I did mine.

Question for you.

I know Uprev requires the ECU Number which Nissan can retrieve from the VIN. Did you have to give your ECU Number? I ask because I'm pretty sure Nissan Australia won't be able to give me the ECU Number being an importn which means I have to contact Nissan Japan.

Did you have any troubles?

Who the hell told you that rubbish?

Their consult can read everything your ecu and trans ecu (if you have an auto) have to offer and is the same hardware/software that all Nissan dealerships around the world use.

EDIT: My Cipher cable displays the ECU number automatically when I connect it.

You can go to Nissan and they can use FAST to see your ECU part number- if they are feeling nice on that given day. They are not suppose to give that info out. Alternatively, you can use EPC data and put your VIN in there. Navigate through the menus and you'll find the ECU part number. It will start with 23710-XXXXX

I did the process for my car about a year and a half ago, and I'm in the process now for a Pathfinder.

Cheers for that info, that makes sense. I realise alot of their things are global but wasn't entirely sure. :-)

Cheers as well for your help man. I will see how I go. :D

Maybe u thinking about BCM and immobilizer code?

Maybe I just fail actually... :whistling:

I also didn't realise that CIPHER could pull the data. I remember when I was on their site when I first got the V, in their FAQ it mentions that to get the ECU number, find someone with CIPHER which will give the VIN and contact your local Nissan/Infiniti dealer.

Obviously things have changed since then and maybe the website needs updating?

I tried EPC Data and no results found for my VIN. All good though, I probably won't get this for awhile anyways. :-)

Nothing's changed. You still use their Cipher to pull the data. What they're telling you is to find someone with a Cipher cable (as a minimum) who can pull that data for you, as opposed to taking the US$200 gamble like I did and bought a Cipher not knowing if it would pull the data or not.

It wouldn't sound very nice of them if their FAQ said "Buy a Cipher and hopefully you can extract the data."

re: EPC data, you probably just didn't enter it in the right format. You can go into the details and just search via model code- example- CPV35 auto gearbox runs 23710-AM905, AC610, CM46A in chronological order.

You can PM me your VIN, or find someone to hook uprev up, or go to Nissan.

Fair call that makes sense. I didn't realise Cipher pulled the ECU number but I see what your saying. :-)

Lol you were right, I took out some of the numbers and mananged to figure it out.

I got the ECU number, its 10 Characters long.. apparently $1721 USD (not that I'm buying lol) .

    • This car has run before on this z32 ecu can get the part number for you, I have tried with no AFM it didn’t change anything, I compression tested today 140-150 across all 6 cylinders, also set fuel pressure to 43psi. The only weird thing was cylinder 1 plug was black and fouled other 5 cylinders were just wet with fuel. Spun cas by hand and confirmed injectors are clicking

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
