I've been living in a hole, but just saw the release date for both the coupe and hard-top convertible here will be December, only Big Kev would have been more excited (probably)

No doubt I'd be getting those grotty Infinit badges taken off, but wow haven't we come leaps and bounds with getting a few decent Nissan models at last!!!!!

I saw the hard-top 36's in the US and they were porntastic!

I am also keen, when i eventually move to Brisbane i'll be going for a job there.

Also i would have to agree with you about removing the badges, i don't like the look of them much either :/

Damn my work computer filtering system i can't see the photo you posted.

Makes me think of Hyundai J2 or a Jaguar. I think Skylines lost its touch after the R34 imo

hmm.. maybe, they are meant to be a different class of car to the R34.

I just can't bring myself to like the back of the R34.. the front looks awesome though!!

The back of my old R34 looked sweet with the custom brake lights, now and again I see it in Logan and nearly snap my neck to look, then realise it's my old car that I'm admiring haha

When it comes to the R series, I prefer the look of the R33 as an overall package.. I find the R32 looks too dated now. and the R34 seems like the designers tried too hard (except the front!!) :) The R34 GTR with the big chunky rear spoiler isn't my cup of tea..

possibly the worlds worst wheel Photoshop? Fark- I mean the front brakes are on the rear

Photo aside (obviously not a company pic)I can't help but think the management of this launch is not being taken seriously/professionally. I mean, it hasn't even had a whisper of coverage, and I see no infinitis driving round.

You would think they will only manufacture a certain # of them to see how sales go in the first 6 months given how the market is and the steep price tag they come with, then go from there. It should be interesting though.. I too have heard nothing but i live on the other side of the world..

It's all about moving with the times. Courier lines and no boost is where it's at today - apparently. It's what people want in street cars.

The Skyline was intended to have an NA V6 from the R33 onwards.

Nissan should have dropped the Skyline Name then. When you say skyline, you think beast race car, not company fleet cars.

I agree re hyundai look, esp rear end, YUK!!

G37 was nice, G35 also nice, but not this...

This. I could say that they retained an very light essence of the R series skylines (still should have dropped the name) with the tail lights and a bit of the shape but this officially ends the definition of "Skyline". I guess when it's my turn to have kids, they will look back at R series skylines as if they are classics like Datsun, and a Datsun like a flintsonemobile.

Haha that's off the Infiniti Australia website. They are going to have the coupes at the Sydney motor show. They're definitely out there, they started with the 4WDs late August. I saw two of the 5 litre V8's at Brisbane airport today in the carpark..

I disagree.. when you say GT-R, you think beast race car. The skyline name on its own has been quite varied over the years.. After all there was a Australian Built R31 Sedan and wagon that would hardly fit into the 'race car' catergory and more into the 'company fleet cars', and family wagons.

There were far more R series skylines that I wouldn't consider in the class of 'race car', fitted with RB20DE, RB25DE engines.. or the stock turbo versions of each which still produced less power and torque than the VQ35DE in the V35.

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
