Bahahahahahahahaha!

My brother lives in SA and he said that it's very difficult to find OEM parts due to people keeping them. So I asked what people do when they upgrade and his reply was that they keep the OEM parts at home and spend a night or two re-fitting everything before they enjoy an afternoon with a Regency officer and his nightstick. LOL!

yep most people keep the original exhaust and springs hanging in the shed..

Well I'm selling my v36 and moving to the US. Currently drooling over the possibility of a 911 Carerra 4S. ~60k for a 2009 model!

LOL.

reminds me of Johnny Drama in Entourage when Vince is looking to buy the Rolls Royce.

'you don't buy a car like that bro, you LEASE it - that's why every broke deadbeat in this town has a 911'.

Yep we don't dare sell our oem parts, as sooner or later the revenue raisers will send you to Regency, and unless you are basically dead stock, you have no chance of passing.

LOL.

i loved the earlier episodes of Entourage. Such a good show

it's hard to beat.

Drama goes on from there to say 'i once owned an italian car, beautiful piece of machinery' - to which turtle points out 'drama, you drove a fckn FIAT - and they reposessed it when you couldn't make the repaymentst'.

Back O/T - I'm still kind of in a 'next car' phase - I like the idea of a V but I could change my mind tomorrow.

My problem is i want ALL teh cars....and i keep buying them and selling them 6 months later. I tell my girl that i break even but i must surely be losing. And every car i've had has been a bit outside the box - I could never drive something 'common' likea S15 or an Evo. I'm just looking for the right balance of quick without being too thirsty and unreliable, good looking without being too impractical/onboxious/cop bait - ability to be daily driven and live on the street every now and then without getting stolen - and all at the right price.

Some cars on my bucket list to own though include:

- BMW e46 M3 SMG - has to be estoril blue

- A 32/33/34 GT-R- just to have done it

- late 60's 280se Merc - stock looking but on digital air suspension.

- BMW X5 4.8is - Black on Black with a straight obnoxious exhuast and no plates 'PANZER'

- Another Lexus LS - such solid cars

- R31 GTS coupe - back to my roots

This will all have to wait until i buy a house though - trade off with gf is no more cars until we buy a house - but when we do i'm allowed to buy a project car.

LOL.

BEST SHOW EVER! I watched all 8 seasons in just a few days, i watched so much of it i felt like i was living their life. Best T.V series out i reckon.

Well I am out of the V and into my 370Z, one of my other options that I was looking at was VW R36 Passat, AWD 3.6L V6, and they look quite tidy on a set of well offset wheels and a little lower too. But being a Nissan guy I did what i just had to do and got the 370 :)

My desire is have a Cobra kit car or newly built 1971 240z or at least a lightweight, most likely open top track car.

BUT sensibly a next car would be a sedan of some sort, but definitely has to be not FWD...

Good choices > but it's best to get the M3 Manual (due to faults with SMG)

i thought the e36 SMG was the one to steer clear of - and the e46's are ok?

there is a minty e36 M# with SMG in Estoril Blue on car sales - has been there for a good 6 months - reckons he's spent 13k on getting the trans overhauled - but I still couldn't trust it........but believe me, i was considering it over the V.

My Urologist had his E46 M3 SMG for 4 weeks before he put it up on the market.

Roadfly or BMW Drivers' Club has info on SMG issues...

yeah but urologists are 'always pissing and moaning'......badda-ching!!! lol

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
