Aus GP tickets paid for. Mega pumped. Week before in Portugal driving Portimao and Estoril then rush back for full speed laps of Albert Park in the mega RB20 then corporate in Brabham. So, so, SO mega broke but so worth it

Ferrari will develop their car for the 2013 Formula One season exclusively at the Toyota facility in Cologne, according to reports.

After encountering problems at their Maranello wind tunnel earlier this year, the Ferrari facility will be out of order until August 2013.

Mercedes and Ferrari are the latest teams to have passed the mandatory FIA crash tests ahead of the 2013 season.

According to reports in German publication Auto Motor und Sport, Mercedes' W04 will have a smaller gearbox, a Coanda exhaust with different sidepods as well as a rear suspension designed to be sensitive to geometry changes to suit the new Pirelli tires.

Despite the circuit's troubling financial situation, the 2013 German Grand Prix will take place at the Nurburgring as originally scheduled after all.

Management of the circuit has previously terminated talks with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, but now track spokesperson Karl-Heinz Steinkuehler insisted to Sport-Bild that 'the F1 world has long known that the [race on] 7 July will run at the Nürburgring'.

The date of the German GP was changed after a European circuit was awarded the 20th race of the season, following the postponement of the event that is being held in New Jersey.

Pedro de la Rosa may have gained many plaudits as McLaren's test and reserve driver but he isn't holding his breath about a return to the team.

"One must know how to move on and look forward, but it is true that I am a realist and everything that has happened has been very unpleasant for everyone who works at HRT," he told Marca newspaper, "There are very few years in my career that I've eaten grapes knowing what I was going to do next year. So it's hard, but it's normal.

"I took a road and I live with my decision, so I'm not going to expect McLaren to throw its doors open wide, especially because I've left them twice. I've been unfaithful and so I must start from scratch. It is normal.

"However, I am confident that I will continue in F1 as a test driver or reserve. I think I will continue with a steering wheel in my hands, but there is no guarantee of anything."

Daniel Ricciardo says next season will be a crucial one for his career as he bids to prove he has what it takes to land a Red Bull seat for 2014.

The Australian will be starting his second full campaign with Scuderia Toro Rosso and will go up against team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne once again.

With Red Bull's bosses eager to find out if either of the youngsters has what it takes to deserve a seat at its main team, the Australian is not hiding away from the fact that there is now pressure to deliver.

"I'm aware of that, and I know that my targets in 2013 will have to be more ambitious," he said in an interview with Italian magazine Autosprint.

"I won't hide and I say that I must and can obtain a podium. I will push to the maximum to make it.

"My Achilles heel is that this year, in the first part of the season, I wasn't aggressive enough in the races. In some aspects I was the opposite of [Romain] Grosjean. Now, however, I think I've found the right balance in showing my capabilities."

Ricciardo also says that he has high hopes for Toro Rosso's new car, which he reveals will not be a straightforward evolution from this year's STR7.

"I can tell you I've already seen it and, when looking at it closely, it's very different from the old one," he explained.

"I think it will be better than the one I've raced with this year. In any case, it won't be one of those cars that looks the perfect copy - barely evolved - of the one that raced the previous year."

In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Ecclestone has conceded for the first time that if further action is taken against him then his running of F1 would likely come to an end.

Speaking about what CVC would do if he was charged, Ecclestone said: "[it] will probably be forced to get rid of me if the Germans come after me. It's pretty obvious, if I'm locked up."

CVC has already been pondering a succession plan for what happens when Ecclestone is no longer in charge, but the man himself does not believe its actions are cause to feel that it is looking to ease him out.

"They said they had hired a head-hunter to find somebody in the event that I was not going to be there - if I was going to die or something. It is the normal thing they do to keep people happy," he said.

The famous Brabham team could be set return to Formula One if legal issues surrounding the rights to the name's use are resolved.

Sir Jack Brabham, an Australian now aged 86, founded his eponymous team, which later raced under Bernie Ecclestone's stewardship, in 1960.

In 2009, a German automotive supply company named Formtech claimed ownership of the name, filing an official entry for the 2010 F1 season.

The Brabham family contested the claim in court, and though the situation is not yet fully resolved, Jack Brabham's son David says there is a possibility the Brabham name could be heading back to Formula One.

"Right now this is a very sensitive issue," he told Totalrace.

"But, yes, there is the possibility to bring the team back (to F1)."

The Brabham team last raced in 1992 with Damon Hill at the wheel, but has a proud history, winning four drivers' titles in 1966, 1967, 1981 and 1983. It also won the constructors' title in 1966 and 1967.

David Brabham added: "For now, we have a predicament behind the scenes, involving the rights of the name. It's 98 per cent resolved, and when it is 100 per cent we'll see what we can do."

I hope that never happens. Basically it looks like a bunch of randoms trying to cash on on Brabhams name. Not unlike Lotus last year, but worse.

    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
