am I right in assuming that if that happens, it'll be the first time the Scuderia have released then taken a driver back at a later date?

Gerhard Berger was the last to do that? Have to think about others, probably be stupidly obvious.

And so it is. Mario Andretti did a famous cameo in 82 after Villeneuve and Pironi destroyed themselves/each other. Also Clay Regazzoni.

Felipe Massa has revealed that he will not be at Ferrari next season, with his departure leaving the way open for Kimi Raikkonen to rejoin the team.

Ferrari has spent the last few days finalising its 2014 driver line-up, and it was widely expected that Massa would not be retained.

Ahead of a scheduled appearance at Maranello on Wednesday, Massa duly confirmed that he was looking for fresh opportunities in Formula 1.

In a message that was posted on his Twitter feed, Massa said: "From 2014 I will no longer be driving for Ferrari.

"I would like to thank the team for all the victories and incredible moments experienced together.

"Thank you also to my wife and all of my family, to my fans and all my sponsors. From each one of you I have always received a great support!

"Right now I want to push as hard as possible with Ferrari for the remaining seven races.

"For next year, I want to find a team that can give me a competitive car to win many more races and challenge for the championship, which remains my greatest objective."

Did massa just grow a backbone or are Ferrari giving him a chance to leave with dignity?

Well bye-bye Massa! Nice guy, gave it a nudge and deserved to rob Hamilton of his WDC but his time has come

.

Shame be could not carry his form from late last year into this season...but alas, goneski. PLEASE DO NOT LET HIM END UP AT LOTUS!!111

Why?

Massa and Grosjean would be great crash buddy's..

Many lols would be had. :P

I cant see Kimi going back to Fezz when it was them that killed his interest in F1...but he wants a competitive car. Fezz want results and keeping Kimi motivated and Alonso happy doesnt seem to fit with the team . I suspect Kimi is using this all to push Lotus and perhaps even McLaren. Surely its Hulk going to Fezz

BBC say its a done deal http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/24042352

"The Finn, who won the world title with Ferrari in 2007 but was replaced by Alonso at the end of 2009, has signed a one-year deal with an option for 2015."

Lotus have said they want Hulk if they lose Kimi.

Massa back to Sauber??? Can't see anywhere else for him.

So Ferrari look a bit silly now. Hopefully a front running car for Kimi but :)

Shame Lotus lost James Allison and couldnt confirm substantial financial stability in the team or that car with Kimi at the wheel could have been amazing next year

    • Z32 AFMs are 80mm tubes. RB26 AFMs are smaller. Just measure. Nismo RB26 AFMs have a different part number to original 26 ones. Probably also have a Nismo badge - but I don't know because I've never been near one. It's unlikely that they've been changed anyway.
    • Hey looking for pointers or experiences with indicator wiring/ common faults for the blinkers on the r31, I have a 87 silhouette and am having dramas with the blinkers staying on (not flashing) to indicate right, while trying to indicate this way the relay makes a constant noise, The front passenger side fender blinker is missing the harness connector to the bulb so is not connected would this effect the opposite side? Both rears work as they should, and blinker that stays on functions normally when on hazards instead of indicating, have replaced all bulbs, fuses and relay Cheers
    • I’ll check the AFM’s and confirm. I’ve seen on another forum post years ago it’s identified with an orange sticker and larger diameter. Unsure if I can check the diameter without removing the air filter. Is there a way to identify if the AFM is stock? I’ve done a quick search and it looks like it might be a green sticker instead?   Will try check that turbo core tag. Looks like a very tight fit in there. Do you know what number would show if it was a stock T25 turbo?
    • The car and the 33GT-R wheels look great. I can't remember if spacers were needed for these but the offset looks perfect for the GTS25t.
    • And the lack of ubiquitous availability. If it was less likely that I'd run out of fuel while trying to cross the crime zone, I'd probably be all over it.
