yeah well aware of that! =) just confirming that i can actually stick with what i am using.

I know different materials require different coolant to avoid corrosion. blah blah blah.. :)

just not sure if stock one=steel, and new china one=aluminium , thus different coolant needed.

If you do wish to change types (clolour) then have it professionally pressure flushed first.

Stock is Brass I believe. The guys at Gibbs in Belco did mine (Natrad) and put in the coolant they deemed appropriate.

They also did a check for stray current to avoid Electrolysis eating away at my Aluminiums.

I had green before with stock Radiator (which was leaking) and Now I have red. It's pretty.

I use Tectaloy 100 which is green and pre-mixed. Also did a fair bit of research before selecting this one. It was between the Nulon and Tectaloy.

With the Alloy rad etc... I use green. No brass monkeys in my system - Tee Hee.

Nissan are now using Blue - FTW

Some are just died because it differentiates between GM, Toyota, Europee'n and US cars.

There is Red, Green, Orange, Yellow, Brown and now Blue.

They used to colour them for a reason. 3 different types - Oats, Hoats and another one.

Now it's all just pretty *rainbow*

Put the Foz in for rego inspection. Failed.....fog lights not working!

Checked all fuses just now and they are all fine. Checked the connectors to the actual fog light switch and one fell off quite easily, hoping that is what the issue is.

I couldnt get it back on. Have to pull bottom half of dash off to get to ot and cant be bothered tonight. will do it after work tomorrow.

Passed my rego inspection check up this morning! Woot!! :woot: After a decent sized list of small things to fix up:

  • headlight aim
  • atmospheric blow off valve
  • boost gauge within head impact zone
  • pod filter loose
  • manual boost controller/bleed valve
  • secure thermo fan
  • right side handbrake didnt work
  • wheels too wide

Big thanks to Rob for lending me some rims to get through the inspection, and a photo of them on the car was requested ;)

YAY! its always good to be allowed to drive on the road..

So are you not allowed to have manual boost controller/bleed valve in ACT? Is SA them same?

I'm about to install one soon, and moving to Adelaide shortly after, do i need to remove it before changing to SA rego?

Yeah im not 100% sure on the subject but this is what I think sounds about right from doing a lot of research. If you want to control the boost it has to be done from inside the cabin, but you cant have any air, fluid or gas (apart from air vents) passing through the firewall.. So to stop all the smart arses placing their bleed valve inside the cabin haha, and I think this is Australia wide. Someone feel free to correct me as im not 100% sure..

If you do install it I would just change it back to stock for the inspection. Only a 5 minute job once you know what you're doing.

Not a Pulsar has a pretty good setup, could probably talk to him about how he controls his boost.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
