I Pulled off the glass weather strip/guide and found out just how worn the pads are.

Has anybody done a DIY replacement on these?

Hi Jimmy - as you know I have but I went the new outer window trim route.

I'd go have a look at either Spotlight and look for something similar in a material.

It's like a white shag small material.

Remove the existing bushes (both). - Use a hand held razor blade and maybe some turps to remove the glue.

Glue the new bushes to the plastic backing and let dry

Re-Install.

Both sides (bout 30mins effort)

Perhaps Supercheap or Bunnings may have something similar.

It's really just a 4-5mm bushy length and around 3cm x 1.5

Cheap as cheaps way to replace.

and remove and rinse every 3 months or so to stop the dust scratches re-occurring on the glass

(fairly certain you cant buy just that piece and clip in )

Edit: PS new external window trim farkers aren't cheap)

Hmm - might have been around $115 each I think when I bought mine. But postage is very exy due to length.

all air postage out of Japan is daylight robbery.....SAL less so and sea cheaper still.

Paid $90 bux freight recently for an RH9 alternator. Half the size of a shoe box !

Best idea is to compile a list and save for it all. Then buy and use Sea as delivery method (6-8weeks)

My issue is I cant wait so it goes DHL. RHD & Nengun are my favourite Jap shops.

Some costs - Rear window Trim (only) is $330. Qtr windows about $220 ea.

OEM Windscreen $1700, Dash $1100ish (NAL). OEM GTR Steering wheel around $1k deliverd. C-pillars $140ea

Have you called Nissan for some of those costs cause I know I had a steering wheel quoted $700 locally.

They still have a lot of those parts including the trim.

Very True indeed Kat - It is good checking Nissan spare parts first and they don't seem to fluctuate with exchange rates if the parts are in country.

My issue with calling them previously is there not real helpful and never call back. (but I don't have bewbs ) They can be a lot more expensive too and sometimes cant get what you see on RHD/Nengun.

But now having an insider the service is brilliant

Must admit I picked up mine even cheaper still off someone who bought new, with horn button, and didn't unpack it. Win

Floormats arrived for the GTR on Thurs, they're better than the looked in the pics. Now got to get them to carlovers or somewhere with a steam cleaner for some love!

And I have to admit I got lucky on door trims, got 2 brand new door trims brand new still in packets for half the Nissan price. Still yet to fit, paranoid they'll get damaged!

Yep, all of their stuff is NEW OEM

By door trim, I meant rubber strip for outside of window, confusing myself haha
