Any/all shops can do the basic service

Oil, Oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, coolant, brake fluid,

Then the checks - braking, suspension, tyres and pressure, lights, blinkers, wiper blades and HORN!

When you end up doing it yourself - keep records and reciepts. (Kms and consumable). This is just for when you sell it.

Oh and wash it more often dude. You didn't get it detailed to let it go again.

Major service every 100k kms - for you I'd get this one done at a Skyline specific shop.

Yeah :( The wet weeeknds I sit inside and the sunny ones I drive :D !! I'll have to dedicate a weekendday to it.

Cheers for the Info !

Richard did make a good point. People are all up about services to keep it at it's prime and forget that the actual visual appeal of a car makes a huge difference. Waxing a car every month or so will keep the paint looking like new and it really should be considered general maintenance.

Wash every weekend and a detail every 3. I do that to my GTR (when i have it =( ) and it keeps the paint looking incredible. It doesn't take very long either. I have got a full meguairs kit ready to go when i get the call.

Jeremy, if you want a Reliable Qualified Mechanic to Take your money for a Job Welldone, I must recommend Jon at Dickson Mechanical and Muffler...

My parents have used him for many years and I always did too for all my other cars. (but I only seek the pro's now if I Really need too.) FUN!!!

But If you want a Skyline Specialist to do Major Stuff...

Trojan will do timing belt for $450 + parts and Clutch for $450 + parts etc... Worth keeping in mind. (lol I already own the parts for these)

Really nice guys and they know their stuff. Maybe a little costly??? But I think it's worth it for peace of mind.

I will give them my monies again.

(I would've given Japspec a go but you know... EAD etc...) :D

I will teach and show you whatever I know if you are willing to learn... (Knowledge is increasing)

Now to business at hand... DON'T BUY CALTEX VORTEX 98 for your SKYLINES!!! :( (bye bye Woolies Discount)

Got my SAFC tuned today, they had to back the tune off as it was "Pinging it's Tits off"... Apparently they have seen Caltex 98 cause issues before.

So in a month I will be getting a Touch up Tune with some SHELL or BP 98 in it. Until then I will have to settle for 181.8rwkw!!! :woot:

Not too bad. :D Feels Very Nice.

Unfortunately, (the fuel must be a bad batch???) they couldn't do a "before" run as the Pinging was too great. (I noticed nothing when driving home yesterday).

But I got these... Can't wait for a retune.

Come on 200kw !!!

I have done these on my rb20 and can also help if you want to DIY

Cant i ever beat rob to offer help? Legend fella. :)

Edited by D.I.Y. Mik

Awesome Rob

Taxi back today also.

245rwkws @ 16psi

Soooo smooth and pulls hard through to 7000rpm (limited)

Happy with Ed out at Autotech for the Nistune.

Tuned very well. Turbo is on earlier.

You wouldn't know it's different till you put your foot down :D

That's mad Richard! Your current sig seems quite apt if you wanna compare mine to yours.

I am Very Happy!!! and yet a little Disappoint. (CALTEX owe me at least 20kw and I want NOW!!!) :verymad:

But Bang for Buck? All Good. :woot:

I got a free sticker. :)

Rob is such a m8. I booked it in at dyno in belco. Changing oil and lights should be fair basic so hopefully they don't stuff it up. I'll probably need to grab a hand for the next 5k.

Haha funny how that Caltex is dodgy after our convo about it :P come to the dark side Rob !

Haha cheers Mik, DIY master :P

Hahaha... One of the many Questions i asked... Can I please have a small sticker?

Also, recommended to Not Fully Fang it unless my Exhaust Bung is out... Sound familiar?

I have certainly noticed that with the Bellmouth, the revs don't drop as fast on gear changes...

She just wants to goooooooo!!!

nobody uses woollies/Caltex in performance cars

most are on shell vpower.

The buzz used to be BP ultimate, it seems to retain its octane rating for longer but then peeps changed back to Shell. NFI why...

Personally I don't mind either BP or Shell

If I paid someone to install the SAFC + Tune + purchase price and ended up with 200kw, it would still be worth it.

Installing myself was VERY satisfying so worth it all the more. You liked infinite boost? This is not as cheap but is alot safer for things...

VERY Smooth power, not jerky like your infinite boost but not a HSV killer either.

LOL. Must be time for me to be somebody the Richard.

that unlimited boost was cray. Was actually the last day to have unlimited boost when I destroyed that HSV (okay, just beat haha). I'm pretty keen. I hear you got a SAFC ;) lets talk.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
