Nice work Rob!
Bit of a let down with the fact it's not hitting 200kw but not too long and you will be there.

I have decided I'm not going to chase the power right now.

Going to get my car sorted so that it drives well and handles well then I will head down the E85 path.

Radiator, exhaust wrap, muffler and gauges are all going in very soon.

Then I'm going to find time to take it to capital steering so they can tell me what needs upgrading to get it handling like it's on rails.

Ohh and Brakes! they will be added to the list as well as an oil cooler :D

yeah, Rob dont feel bad about not making 200rwks

standard RB25 turbo will never truly make that (for long) the 190-195 is a realistic figure

also we at what 2000ft above sea level.

engines lose ~3% of their power per 1000ft

Also, just because it was a Caltex servo, doesnt mean its Caltex fuel

fouls your plugs mate

If you want some value I recommend Liqui Moly fuel system cleaner

and if you hadn't already done it when you bought the car another Liqui Moly product - at your next oil/oil filter change use Engine Detox (just let it idle - don't boost it !)

Better than any other product on the market - IMHO

Yeah just in case I get SH!T fuel again... Oneshot.

I think? I put some NULON Injector Cleaner through it when I bought the car.

I always put a bottle of NULON E20 Engine Treatment in at every oil change.

(I seem to use Nulon Products alot. :D)

Never used an engine flush etc...

It's also colder the higher you get so surely that evens it all out? :P

Good idea.

Even my 180kw needs more grip, and i thought i had a good suspension setup.

Felt the Power. :woot:

Plugged in my ECUtalk to see that the timing is bang on 5o instead of 150.

When tuning, they had it on 150 but was not happy so did what they could to make it happy.

So 50 and a backed off tune is what resulted. Seems my Timing belt must be out by a tooth or two. :/

All will get fixed and the power will reveal itself. More to come? Yes Please! :D

I think I have heard of people intentionally putting the Exhaust? cam out by a tooth for some sort of gain...

Does anyone know anything about this??

Nah, I just want it to be as it should be, but do people do this tooth skipping thing and is it possible that this was done intentionally for some benefit?

Tried rolling guards, with my DIY tool.

The roller part is not up to it, its too short and when the heatgun is applied, it gets soft and flexes. :/

Or the guards are too stiff, yeah thats it i didnt fk up it was nissan. :P

Cleaning the Volks, not sure whats safe, so using bug and tar remover.

Its safe but not as effective as id like.

Scrubbed till my hands numb, still not clean.

Its the inside of the rim thats so hard to clean, the rest is ok.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
