Came across a cheap power fc for r33 today. Couldnt pass up the offer! :woot:

Tunability Plus! Nice Score. :)

After getting my car back id just like to tip my hat to Adrian and the guys at ultimate tunes for the finishing touches on the GTR. It drives and feels incredible. It has never ran so well. Couldn't be happier.

This is Very good to hear.

Finally.

Spent an hour or so today replacing my worn out steering wheel with a better condition one. Still waiting on a bunch of parts to arrive at the panel shop before i can take it in to get it back on the road.

Not bad!

The tank I was on up to Robertson and back also had 80km of town driving prior to, so I may have had better Economy again.

(49.18L / 440km = 11.18L / 100km)

Previous Goulburn runs have been around 10.5L prior to my SAFC.

Mine was pretty poor. Similar to Robs.

49L / 420km = 11.67L / 100km

What? That's good man.

If I have an angry week or 2 at work, (and also before I replaced my O2 sensor) I can get 14 - 15L / 100km.

less than 12L you should be cheerin !!! :D

and yeah, driving like a Granny is cheaper but no fun and with these cars it kinda defeats the purpose.

Haha yeah, but that was all on the highway..

When im town driving I usually fill up shy of 400kms though my fuel level sender plays up.. Drops to empty even with about 15L in the tank.

I have pulled out and cleaned my sender, It still goes to E with approx 15L left. (most I've put in is 52L in a 65L tank) Fuel ight comes on and goes off but hasn't stayed on yet... In theory we should still have perhaps 100kms left. :/

I might chuck a Jerry can in oneday and see how far is the limit.

Hmm thats interesting. I've never seen my fuel light come on so im not sure whether it works or not haha

I have also though about doing that. One day lol

I get 20L around town SUP !!!!!!! I don't know what I get around town but its never good :(

Yeah but half the time your O2 sensor isn't working. :D

We need to fix that properly or replace it aye Bruzz.

kudos motorsports (online) the ntk/ngk ones are about $75ish also the ecu coolant temp sensor.

Fuel light comes on when betwwen 10-7ltrs of fuel left. I have filled up 58litres before when the fuel light came on.

Mine averages about 13L/100km general driving around town, never actually done a nice hwy cruise to measure =S

I do keep a graph / spreadsheet to monitor economy.

Usually fill up about 35L at a time, never even get close to empty, leave any crap in the tank at the bottom rather than suck it into the engine...(so i was told many years ago, can't hurt)

I always use BP 98, tried a tank of Shell 98 and consumption went up to 14.6L/100km, so back to BP i go. Haven't done the math to see if it worked out cheaper per km but at a guess it won't be much different.

i do a few ks per weeks so i like to run it near dry. However when i bought it i ran it to near empty then d/c fuel hose prior to filter and pumped out the last few litres into a bucket. I then bought fresh fuel 5 litres or so and did it again. I also replaced the fuel filter and would have replaced the tank filter but i was due for a upgrade so did it at the same time.

If you replace fuel filter every 30-40 thou or when you get a bad batch of fuel, you will be fine.

...because fuel doesn't get stirred up?

Besides the pick up is at the bottom of the tank.

not being narky, just saying

yeah I know, just a habit i started years ago when i was 16 and didn't know any better.

At least I have NEVER run out of fuel! =)

Going in for a tune soon, so hopefully get down to maybe 12 average or less.

Just cant help myself.... bad habits.

Crown and pinion seem good, just the old viscous centre has to go. Its annoyed me the whole time ive owned it.

All cleaned up and packed to ship to Award diff and gearbox.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
