Hi Guys

I've just bought a 2005 Stagea, and was wondering if any of you had come across a manual for it in english? I've got a couple of things I would like to get sorted, but can't really find too much information on it(Information that I can read anyway...)

Specifically:

  • LCD screen pops up, and goes straight back down(doesn't turn on)
  • Power cable in the centre console, no idea what it is for
  • In car phone system? Appears to be on the steering wheel, but nothing happens other than a "beep". Phone can't find the car either
  • Replacing the stereo, I've seen adapters for the face plate, but can't seem to find a wiring diagram so I can keep the steering wheel controls(seen the adapters on amazon though)
  • Dvd rom for the LCD? A way to get it all working again?(Providing the english conversion is out for the 2005 model now)(DVD has power to it, but that is all I can see/hear at the moment)
  • Off/Snow/On button below the steering wheel, this car is only RWD, so I'm not sure what it's for?(I thought it was for the 4WD models)

Other than those things, the car is great(perfect for towing the jetski)

I hope I haven't broken any unwritten rules with this post, I'm not meaning to ask for you to do all the work, just to point me in the right direction

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Chris

I can answer a couple of these.

The adapter in the centre console is meant for japanese phone only, same as the phone controls on the steering wheel.

The adapter is a NSA04 and u'll need a double din fasica if you have the integrated stereo and the axxess steering wheel control box to retain the steering wheel control functions.

DVD rom is basically the brains for the LCD from what I've read, no conversion for it yet. http://www.xanavi.com.au/Xanavi/Xanavi_Language.html

Are you sure it's RWD? Does it have an 'N' in the VIN? If so, then it's AWD.

More answers can be found via search. :D.

The LCD up down screen thing means it's broken. Ask iamhe77 for details. Really until the language conversion, it's near useless anyway.

Does yours have traction control? If so, it's rwd. Or just check the vin. The snow thing just dulls the throttle response.

Hope you enjoy your new car!

Funny you should say that Alex.

Seems to be an easy fix for the up/down screen, just takes time :)

When you start the car and the screen is on the way up, just quickly push it down a little then let it continue going up. Once it reaches the top it will stay up.

I have been doing this for a couple of months now every time I get in the car as of Saturday night, the screen has decided to work correctly without me touching it.

Hell of a lot easier and cheaper than replacing the motor within the unit.

    • Ok guys thank you very much. GCG highflow it is then 🙂
    • forgot to mention that when it does this it does not kill the engine, but I have not kept the pedal down long enough to let it, as I see no reason to beat up on it as its got to be something simple, small and dumb causing this.  And as soon as I let off pedal, the engine returns to its normal super smooth operation and rpms re-stabilize quickly, once below 4k.
    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
