ya i'm frantically looking around for a reasonable insurance company,,, coz the car might get here from cairns either on friday or monday,,,

anyone got any contacts with insurance ppl , i.e discounts,,,, any way i can put it under my dad's name and get a cheaper quote,,,?

i did that with the r33,, but can't get insurance for a r34 with that insurer ,,

the rims are just series II rims,,, i wish they were gtr!! lol,,, only 17" rims,,

They look like GTR rims :P

Welcome Afro.

I suggest you try the normal ones. Depending on age, you can try Suncorp (if you are over 25) or Famous Classic Car Insurance. They kinda do deals for SAU people. Theres a thread on here about them. Just search for Famous Classic.

Or Just Cars... Young and Cool. Most of them charge through the nose. But it depends on how much you want you car insured for as to whether you want to pay the premiums.

THANKSS,,,, :P

I"ve read a few threads< and from what i can figure out<< some ppl are paying around $1500 - $1700 for r34's while others are paying about $2400,, i can't figure out y they vary so much,

anyways, i'm gona call a whole heap of places tomorrow,, and see if i can get a better deal,,

Hey AFRO,

beautiful car mate, as you can see from my avatar, it's the car i want, but unfortunately my budget couldn't stretch to a 2000 model (year Nissan started producing TV2 GT-T's) so i've just bought myself a 1998 Black R34 (but most prob get full respray to TV2 as there are a SHITELOAD of black R34's in Melb! :P :P)

I rang Just Cars, they quoted me $2467 - 20 yrs old, no bad history at all (touch wood), rating 4. Unfortunately no monthly payments.

And for those wondering about the rims, there are a few differences between SI and SII R34's.

Interior: Two tone (whitish, kinda more cream, and normal black colour) steering wheel and gear knob.

Exterior: Different front bar (altho AFRO's is an Altia item) Darker rims, more GTR colour.

Engine: More torque, not sure exactly how much, bout 20nm prob.

Differential: Helical as compared to Viscous from the SI

I think that's about it.

Congrats on the car mate, and that is an AWESOME price too! Wish that car was advertised more widely, i would have definitely be contesting you for it!

cheers.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
    • FYI: Racebox RE7R Custom Tunes Released!   https://goracebox.com/.../2017-infiniti-q50-q60-re7r-tcm...   FOR GEN 2 (21+) VEHICLES, PLEASE SEE NOTE AT BOTTOM See more   But whomever tuned your car is the tuner you should go back to, AMS, Sonictune or BT Tune....
