Hey guys

So I only just noticed that my car got egged, it would have happened last night as it's not possible it happened today.

That means the egg was on my car for about 20 hours before I noticed it.

I have just cleaned it off using car wash and a microfibre mit, but after drying I can see that the paint is slightly cracked. It is barely noticeable and you can only see it in certain light.

Will a good cut and polish get this out?

I have just applied some Maguires polish so I'll see how that goes.

Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated.

Mild stains which are left can be removed with a medium cut product such as ultimate compound if still relatively fresh.

Deep chips such as those through the paint left by the shell may not be able to be removed with anything bar respray.

I have repaired stains and lighter chips from incidents such as this via wet sand / Meguiars M105 combo many times previously with great results however have now flipped to other branded products because M105 is quite aggressive, but does not have a very long working time and dusts quite heavily.

Had this happen to my old Patrol once when I was at work, thankfully washed it off within hours.

Happened to my friends Valiant and the paint is now ruined where he missed a spot washing it off. If the paints literally cracked mate its gone sorry to say.

Eggining / keying / damageing someone elses car in any way is in my eyes thee LOWEST and most disgusting form of personal attack. If you know any mates who think this is a good idea of fun then smack their heads in.

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
