urbanoperations
i would say because the 89 models are pretty rare, and would be very expensive in japan just like any of the old Skylines ie 72model GTR GC210 or 110 whatever they are, if they werent rare we would be seeing them popup on the japanese importer sites like j-spec or prestige motorsport, but until this day i have never seen on on either of those sites... Atreyu
The NSX wasnt released until 1990 so that is the reason. I had a chance to purchase a 1990 model for $40,000 but I would have been unable to register it until next year. I love the NSX. Atreyu
The NSX prototype was unveiled in 1989. I am almost 100% certain that they werent released until 1990, all my information points to the earliest NSX to have been released in 1990. Rezz
Yep, NSX sold from 1990... September 1990 in fact. NSXs are so sought after in Japan, even the cheapest, most poorly kept auto trans shitter 3.0L '90 model still commands 2.5 million yen... EnricoPalazzo
along with wat everyone else says, all the older ones have been in accidents and with an all aluminium frame, it wouldnt be a good idea to buy one. Evo_Lee
Justin is spot on, they are 1990 and the cheapest ones are Autos and they are by no means cheap at all...so you can imagine how expensive a manual one is. Even the Japanese feel these cars are expensive, not to mention there really isn't that many here...I'd even say there weren't many sold globally in other countries as well. Looking at the import side of things, if they're such a bargain you wouldn't be the first to know. 40K+GST+import tax, makes the local ones a bargain...is what I tell everyone. along with wat everyone else says, all the older ones have been in accidents and with an all aluminium frame, it wouldnt be a good idea to buy one. Spot on again...aluminium panels cannot be repaired, they have to be bought new and do you know how expensive Honda sells them? Nice try though...I don't know how many people I've already told who thought they were onto a gold mine. Don't get me wrong, i'd love a NSX, but why are they so sought after? They overall better than a GTR or RX-7 are they??? They always been 3ltr V6??'s ? EnricoPalazzo
the originals wer 3L v6 but then they wer changed to 3.2L v6 The reason they are so sought after is because they are Japans only true Supercar. Mid engine layout, Normaliy Aspirated, Lightwight, Brilliant Handling, a True Sports car. That is why i believe they are a sought after item.
