Ahh I see. Nothing against Vicdrift, im sure theyre a great club to be hosting events. My concern is the point I just saw on their page about the requirement for rollcages in 2013. I have a street car and I cant just throw a cage in, i need the seats and space. Which leaves me in a bit of a situation as it seems like the choice is drift and make my car unusable on the road. or no drift. And I wanna drift again.

Only group A,B and C mate.

If you're in those groups you expect there is a chance the car will come back a meatball, thus the cage regs.

Grooup D is fine, no cage required, just no tandems.

I did see something about Group D on their web page, but, atleast for the matsuri, it appared to be a noob class where as I am fairly experienced. Is this the case? I have no interest in tandems, just wanna go out and have my fun (without having to slowly pass spun cars on every corner).

Group E is the noob class. D allows for your kind of car.

Excellent. This is good news. I havent put a cage in so far as i like my car being as streetable as possible (it is where its used 99% of the time) and i certainly dont have the cash to make this a track only car. As for getting a cage and bolting it in just for events? thats another solution, something to consider.

there is also scott mc queen motorsport, runs a few calders days dont need a cage at all

also forced motorworx , and other combined sponsors such as import monster and inverse tyres are holding a day at calder

check out 'inverse tyres' on facebook for more info

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
