Bored as all f*ck at work, looking around on Carsales at what's on the market - Come across this.

What do you guys think? Reckon asking price is acheivable given how rare the car is?

Looks amazing.

Basically the asking price is justified by the rarity of what it is.

M-Spec's are just luxury models of the V-Spec's and the limited numbers made.

Equipped from factory standard with Ripple Control Shock Absorbers / Heated Leather Seats / Leather Steering Wheel with Silica Breath being the unique colour designated for this version of R34 GTR, along with other standard colours.

But considering the modifications that has been done, I'd say it's serious about performance.

Rarity is one thing but at the end of the day, it's just a luxury V-Spec.

I can't justify it for the price.

If I had $100,000 I'd just buy a base model R34 GTR, spend it on the modifications for a nice street / light track setup and still have quite a bit left over in the wallet.

Ha I have inspected this car and driven it. Came extremely close to buying it to.

It was owned by jerry on here, and I had an accepted offer on it for a tiny bit more than half the asking price currently! Have no idea what it sold for though.

I fell through with the sale because after a pre purchase inspection I found the whole front of the car had been resprayed and looked as though the rad support had possibly been replaced, was also told by educated ppl kms could be double or more (although they were still low).

It took alot of convincing to not buy the car though as it was presented beautifully.

Not to damage the sale, not sure if the guy is on here, but I dont think its worth 100k considering I have seen mspec nurs asking less!

DAAAAMN! Yeah let's hope the bloke still isn't on here or else that could potentially ruin the sale - Maybe that's why it's still up for sale.. judging by the pictures it does look immaculate but now that this has been uncovered. Could also help a potential buyer..

Nah the 60 year old mechanical engineer the guy mentions in the add is jerry, he is the previous owner I delt with. So I have no idea what he ended up selling it for, or who the current owner is.

Not out to ruin the guys sale just save fellow members the hassel if that is a deal breaker for them. If anyone is guinely interested in the car I could maybe dig up the old inspection report.

Yeah definitely can relate to the above. But i guess in the case of a bone stock M-spec it would be more of a collectors item would it not?

Depending on the modifications done... The price can swing either way...

But I'd say a bone stock M-Spec would be leaning towards it being worth more.

Due to the fact that it is still in it's original condition...

only M-spec in collector condition would be worth near that money in my opinion. the minute you put in HKS bits on it... it not longer is collector / investment level car, unless he has everything stock still with him, i don't think its worth that much.

Still a bloody nice BNR34.

Admittedly it is a beautiful car but severely overpriced imo. From memory there was an M-Spec on car sales 5-6 months ago with an asking price 25k less than this, albeit i know nothing of its quality.

  • 2 weeks later...

Lol!

I bought my own car off the previous owners son. I had a good chat with the previous owner of this car today and know what it was sold for and it DEFINATELY isn't anywhere close to what this guy is asking! It was an immaculate car. The stock parts are still in the previous owners garage.

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
