Hey all, first time posting here. I picked up Stagea as a family rig for my wife a few months ago (off a forum member I believe, not sure on user name though) and to cut a long story short she had a minor accident in it necessitating a number of front end parts to be replaced. I figure this is a good opportunity to upgrade the cooler with something a little nicer but the car is at the repairers and I need some figures on the size of the stock item before I go shopping. Not looking at a full kit at this stage, just something better to slot in where the stocker used to reside or close enough to it.

A quick google search and some browsing of the forums turned up no conclusive answers to the dimensions so if someone can provide me with the numbers the would be great. Cheers, Damo.

Seriously. Just do the HDI GT cooler kit. It not that expensive. And is a bolt in. You can get the whole kit for $600ish off ebay.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I'm hearing you around the kit, they are definately good value for money ($699 was the cheapest I could find on ebay btw) but I can replace the cooler only for around $150. I'm only bothering because its out necessity since the accident and I doubt the wife will too fussed in regards to the potential for increase hp.

They for the HDI GT kit it comes up often for $580 on ebay. Maybe make an offer to them for a lower price. I actually. Picked up my kit of ebay brand new for $420. just gotta look around

Get the Greddy kit. More piping on the turbo side than the HDi kit.

Thanks very much for the info, that answers every question I could have. I'll have to see what exactly the situation is regarding insurance coverage and the replacement parts but if an aftermarket part works out cheaper than OE then I may be able to get it across the line. The car is still 3 weeks away as some parts had to be ordered from Japan but as far I'm aware based on the last conversation with the repairer they were yet to purchase the cooler.

I was just giving dimensions of a intercooler core he could look into as you can pick them up cheap as chips so to speak and with a few modification to piping could get it to fit

Thats for the HDI isnt it josh? That wont work wkth stock piping will it?

Wow, that is just ridiculous. You may have sold me on the kit, haha! Postage from Japan would've probably run into a couple of hundred though that still represents good value.

Turns out the repairers only want to use new genuine parts for mechanical related repairs and have ordered a new intercooler from nissan in Japan. I can only imagine how much that cost but not to worry, I'll look at upgrades down the road after we actually get the car back.

Are you sitting down?

PN; 14461AQ800 $1343.

Good thing they're saving dollars...

I knew it would be something outrageous, add to that the radiator, thermo fan and condenser core along with shipping they're probably looking at no change from $3k. You just can't help some people, I even gave them local alternatives that would have given them a bill a third of the price.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
