The only way I can learn is by understanding what is done and why it was done. From what I gather, this setting should not have been changed. I was just asking for the functions of these settings, how they affect the tune and why they would have been changed. Clearly the tuner who did the initial tune on my car was just trying to get their money for the least amount of work. Maybe if I learn and understand what all these settings mean, I can write my own tune from scratch. Maybe its not broken, but its certainly been bent out of shape, so rather than slap some paint over it, lets beat it back into shape then put the paint on.

what you "could" do is set the AFM values to the default values and rework your entire injection table, just leave the ignition table the way it is.

but be carefully the car might run excessively lean, so compensate on those areas once you have a feel for the map

How did you sort reversion issues? My air filters sound like Darth Vadar the way they breath in and out

this was on a single turbo setup, i moved the afm far away from the turbo which fixed my issues.

You'd need to do the ignition table also. The AFM flow-voltage mapping is the load axis for both tables.

Come to think of it, you have a very valid point, changing the afm scaling will affect how the powerfc determines load

like i said, if you are prepared to start again, then just reset the power fc and start from scratch. or you can just fine tune your cruise map and be done with it.

Fueling I can adjust. Timing not so much as I am not sure of the safe points and there is no standard principle. I shall do what you suggest as it is the easiest way. Prior to this though ill try the aem 1v nb simulation and see if this does what I desire.

as the others have said, why fiddle if you dont need to?

on this main screen there are two key settings

one is the afm bending range per voltage range

the values are 0 to 100 and are % correctional

these values remain the same regardless what AFM you select from the pre-set table

this allows the tuner to quickly and easily shift the load axis that is used without editing every single ING and INJ value on the map

so basically you can quickly and easily tune the whole car without editing tons of cells over and over

most tunes simply do this and its all good

selecting a specific AFM loads the corresponding AFM ramp table at the bottom (the 5 rows of numbers from 01 to 20)

this is the raw values for each AFM preset. dont fiddle with these unless you know what you are doing and are trying to address a specific issue with that specific AFM and a certain load point

adjusting the afm bend to all 100%'s will throw your tune out

leave them as is

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box 
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
