Hey 9krpm, I see your building a weapon, Freddie from top stage was talking about your beast. Will your car be ready?

It will be ready. Most things are done. Just that I am not sure what I am allowed to post/share on here so I have been a bit "shy" with my thread and I have been so hectic with work. Looking forward to some testing soon.

Did you use any boot reinforcement with the Aeromotion wing?

Good luck with the project.

Shy? It's a build thread dude start posting.

Definitely reinforced the boot, boys made a frame under the boot, that the wing attaches too, so boot and wing are one, then braced to boot chassis so the wing and boot come off in one piece.

0.9 aircraft stainless steal, can purchase from few different places, it's extremely light and works perfect for our build

Oh I see that is excellent. Would you mind lettin me know where you sourced it from? You can PM me if you like. Thanks

what's the height of your rear wing? Just the standard setup from aeromotions?

website says height is 12" for a 32/33 vs the r35's 8". Other specs are all the same.

and nice work on the car. impressive.

12 inch uprights, you can order up to 16inch which they have and would get your wing above roofline, ours could go another inch or so higher to be level with the roofline, can go higher again for more downforce but the rules won't permit us. We are gonna do some more testing to see how balanced the car is before we try and add more rear downforce. The wing works fantastic at Phillip island in the past in the old set up, sydney motorsport park will be a different story as the corner speeds are not as fast as the island.

Gonna reinstall the full race torque split controller when it gets wired. It's an awesome product that works, and so easy to use If anyone that reads this post that has used the ruzic and full race controller I would love to hear your feedback and experiences with them.

Paul Cahill in vic has good things to say about the ets pro. reckons he dropped 3secs a lap at phillip island the moment he installed it.
Mark Berry tried it in his 32 and hated it. put in the ruzic II and said it was 98% as good as the module that paul ruzic put into his 34 time attack car which was far more hands on in terms of tuning.

I don't think either are a bad option. I've gone a Full Race ETS-Pro but was pretty much a coin toss between that and a Ruzic.

Was really impressed with your results... I have gone down this path as well. What are you now pushing on ur 6262?

I thought I saw precision somewhere in this thread... what one are u running Steve?

Does the car behave more like a 4wd if turned all the way up from those with experience?

Paul Cahill is a mate that actually put me on to using the full race controller, I just don't understand how the ruzic controller uses GPS feedback, doesnt gps have delayed response time also? how does the same map benefit different set up cars. Confused as I'm not that educated on the device so hence me asking if people have used and how they find it.

I'll post some photos of Paul's new aero set up, it's crazy, paul and I are actually fighting it out for fastest lap times at the island.

you don't need to use the gps module. i've bought the non-gps unit.
the maps can be altered/tuned.
my car will be up and running soon so will be able to give more feedback. have also combined it with a quaife front diff.

i was also sold by the fact that paul ruzic is local and is happy to jump on the phone to you to help tune/improve your individual setup.
i figured if mark berry was impressed then i'll be more than satisfied with its performance.

Haven't tuned it up yet but the power will be 450-500rwkw, using the 6466 precision turbo. When dean drove the car last we had also increased tyre size from 265 to 305 width with the full race controller, so can't say exactly how much contribution the controller on its own was but the feedback was that he didn't get any wheel spin out of corners...it would just grip up and shoot out of the turns. Especially out of Honda corner which always spun, were running about 420-440 kw at the time, dean turned the controller all the way up. Now this combination actually caused us an issue which we never had before....oil surge, hence the dry sump set up. It's got so much mechanical grip.

This is Paul's new set up....crazy. He should smash my time, that is till we go back out again lol.

And this is joes car we are both trying to beat, 1.36 to beat.

We have all been fighting it out for a while, all in good fun.

Must admit I havnt tried the Ruzic. But was and am very happy with the ETS PRO. Would like to hear feed back re the Ruzic as well.

Cheers

Paul

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
