I see a lot of discussion about Scotch. This makes me happy in my pants. Scotch puts hairs on chests and intrigue, mystery and sex appeal into women who drink it.

However this is only touching the surface of whisky/ey gentlemen! What of Rye's, Sour Mash, Irish, Japanese or dare I say... Australian!

so cheap in japan, half price basically to what we get it here for.

all alcahol is cheap, a bottle of balentines was $10

vodka was usually $8

goot times.

supprisingly in comparison the most expencive were jack daniels, basic johnnies and jim beam. still only maby %20-30 cheaper, couldnt work that out.

if anyone is ever going to japan ill give you a thousand or 2 to bring back what i should have bought.

also this was waiting for me at the airport which helped with my night flight.

My alcoholic dream holiday destination, Otard, Hennessy and Fransac all in a row, Martell down the road and Remy over the back a bit...bliss!Posted Image

When I go back to France that is on my to do list.

Also should you eventually realise your dream holiday, make certain you book the tour to go to Camus distillery where you can also create your own Cognac

do you reside in Japan? That is all quality single malts right there (apart from King George JW blue label).

Kinda not surprising alcohol is cheaper considering in Australia excise tax and duties are imposed heavily on them.

Love the Suntory expressions and am keen to one day have them all in my display closet.

Looks like your flight would have indeed been a pleasant one ;)

I do intend to go back to Japan......but with young kids to look after, it could be a while yet.

Sorry should have been more clear...was there the other week :D This was at the Remy tour with the food and cognac tasting at the end...yum! The other photo is half of the prolific range they had in our hotel, the other cabinet housed 50+ bottle of the $2000+ bottles

Tonight I'm having some of this

post-5053-14036896617177_thumb.jpg

Ardbeg Uigeadail one of the great and powerful but certainly a tasty SM

At 54.2% I've added some water to stop the harshness of the Whisky from confusing my taste buds and palate

Been sitting with glass watch cover for about 20mins (this one takes some time to open up)

I'm expecting large amounts of peat and smokiness

Just had a taste then.

Nose: peat smoke with fresh sea salt mist (has the smell of the sea shore at an old fishing peer)

Palate: EXPLOSIVE (as the most first tastes are but this is really powerful)

Second taste - spicy and peppery as the alcohol tingles the mouth and throat but you get a hint of sweet dried fruit like fig and raisins

Finish: smoke, old burnt wood / BBQ smoke but not the suffocating type more a long and comforting ride in the country side next to a bond fire

Very moving single malt

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
