Thats another thing, are you following a procedure to torque them up or just torquing them up front front to back etc. Theres probably a pattern to torque the bolts up

Well I finally put the whole thing together again, this time without any gaskets, I used the hylomar blue and bolted it up tight,

first couple of starts it stalled straight away with some weird knocking noises, 3rd time it started and sounds like a WRX with some knock noises so I left it at that...

Im guessing this means theres a shit load of leaks this time,

How much is a good price if I pay a mechanic to strip, machine and reassemble it for me????

yeah ive been tightening them from the middle and gradually working my way to the outside bolts,

Obviously they should be sealed from each other, but I dont understand how one cylinder would decide to rob one next to it? Which cylinder would Rob the most?

Had some success today, rechecked for leaks and found one around a clamp on the intercooler pipes, sealed it up and she's idling good, took for a drive and she's pulling fairly hard at 0.8bar, but wont know till it hits a dyno with 20psi..

so that's with using no gasket and just hylomar and bolted down...
