This game was awesome, finished it on normal and now playing on hard (with I had played on hard in the first place). The storyline, gameplay and graphics are perfect. It really does make every other game look bad. Some parts also scared the crap out of me (ie hotel basement at 2am).

So what's everyone's thoughts on a sequel? (obviously without giving the ending away)

1. F#$k yeah, they have to do another

2. Nahhh, it was all wrapped up.

The story was wrapped up, but the world has a lot left in it to write more stories about.

Played it on hard, as I do all games, because I'm not one to go back and play a game again.

Fantastic game, to date it's my fav PS3 game ever. (I've since bought the Mass Effect Trilogy as a mate said it was the goods after you got past number 1)

I'd also played the uncharted series so I knew what to expect from Naughty Dog and this surpassed my expectations.

I was quite happy with the ending (no spoilers here), and I could see a sequel and would happily play it. It would also make an exceptional stand alone movie.

I can't say more than that without giving "some" things away and given how hard I had to work to avoid spoilers so the experience wasn't ruined, I won't risk doing that to anyone else.

I should add, I would recommend paying it on hard as it ups the ante in terms of the stealth and survival instinct needed which this game thrives on.

I can't remember the exact stats but at the end of the game I had something like 80% accuracy and an absolute heap of head shots, and I'm from a PC gaming background and struggle with shooting on a console, so that just goes to show how careful you will be when every shot counts, I can easily see better players having over 90% accuracy and mjority of kills being head shots or melee/strangle deaths.

Father daughter yes, plus it was one of the things they talked about doing after the trip I think, going to the Zoo.

Joel says so is it everything you thought it would be or something to that effect.

I think the story grabbed me for a few reasons.

I have a slight fear of situations like that, outbreak, societal break down and how I'd survive, protect my family etc. Plus I'm a new father (4mths) so the daughter card grabbed me.

Intentional casting really, as the saying daddies girl and mummies boy exist for a reason in terms of the bonds parents have across the genders.

One of the concepts of the game was that life still goes on (unless there's a nuclear holocaust or similar) even after humans are no longer a dominant species.

The developers did a lot of research in the area of, "what if people ceased to exist?" and found that the amount of maintenance we do on a daily basis holds back most of the wilderness from coming back.

A good way to look at it is to imagine not mowing your lawn or cleaning out those spider webs around the house for 20 years.

GROUNDED is the making-of feature where they delve a bit more into the research undertaken. If you're a fan of the game, I highly recommend to watch it.

I see...

Well yeah, since you're a father now, your mind set with take into account of these things.

Just shows how powerful this games is to trigger that emotion, of what you thought at the time, when it took place in the game.

such a great game.. mind you its mostly enjoyable playing on hard or survivor ( ng+) probs the best buy (game wise) in a long long time!

having probably the most indepth feeling that draws you to the charactors some thing i find we dont see much in games anymore, not to mention the lack of amunation laying around makes it for a very thrilling game were i found myself sneaking pass alot of fights :D

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
