I feel for u rs2000. I have been on this forum for a few years and posted very little due to fear of what your are receiving from members.

My knowledge of rb is limited so I mainly read and never post absorbing info to better help me.

In their defence u asked a question, received advice and then went the other way. U made ur original question redundant by ur turbo selection.

Afterall it is the interwebs and if u cant take some banter this forum is probly not for u.

In the end its your own decision we just tried point u in the best direction for ur power goal and trying to save u about a grand at the same time. If ur happy with ur choice kudos to u. My prediction with. A gt30 on a stag is 215kw

Just because i didnt get a hyper gear turbo alot of you guys have been pricks, its my money my car ill do what i want with advice from anyone. You guys dont know how much money i earn or have in the bank, my car isnt a budget build.

I do appreciatte anyones opinion and advice, and yet again i thank you for your time.

Banter me all you want ive lost alot of respect for some users in this members in this forum, peoples posts and how they express them selves is who they are as an individual.

Let the keyboard warriors begin!

What those two said.

I struggle to believe that you were after sound advice when you started this thread. You seemingly ignored the almost unanimous advice handed out which leaves people scratching their heads and wondering what was the point of the thread in the first place. That in turn leads to scorn cause, well, what was the point of it all?

But at the end of the day do whatever you want to. I'm sure you'll be happy with the result of the 3076. Just don't get sand in your vagina when we go off track cause the thread is essentially over.

I started this thread to get your opinions, i got your opinions and opinions from people outside the forum and come up with an answer. That answer obviously upset some of you guys and you made it clear.

I thought simon at morpowa in adelaide was happy with the gtx3076r from what i read in the forums.

I love my GTX3076, but it's a little pointless spending the extra cash and sticking a 400kw, high boost capable turbo on if you aren't going to use it's potential... Just my opinion.

If you are planning to run it hard, it will be a very fast wagon, just a little laggy down low. There are definitely better options for a daily but your decision is made now, so enjoy it. :)

you need more fuel octane as a bare minimum to use the extra flow of that turbo, otherwise its pointless over a vanilla 3076, do you understand that?

(i am not being condescending, i am just asking if you do know)

So switch to E85, water/meth, or ..

.the best and easiest octane booster is methanol added at 10 percent/98 to your fuel tank

you can buy it at o.g speed shop on o.g road for $1.00 a litre and adding 10 percent to you tank is easy peasy...

don't f**k around with octane booster in a bottle, it expensive and usually just toluene or such..which you can buy from solvers paint cheaper..lol

and that should get you a very decent result over 98 octane and make it worth it, otherwise until fuel octane is increased you will hit a brick

wall at roughly the same place we all do with similiar sized turbos , regardless of how fancy or expensive the turbo is...thats physics

so octane=win, you have 3 ways to do it

98 octane= my family car would be faster

You can ask around, but this is the truth, anyone telling you otherwise, doesn't know what the f**k they are talking about...

Be shame to spend all that money and not have a better than normal result, if youve got money, and don;t holiday it , E85 the frigging thing

regards

darren

Good post ^

Doed your ecu support two maps? Could tune it for both ;)

Cant go wrong with Garrett, although I'd have looked into the gtx3071 perhaps

Mainly for the down low get up & go factor

Dont be worried about others opinions, its your car. If it was me I wouldn't have gone HG, just saying (my opinion lads, Garrett is top shelf....)

You asked the question, did your research, made a decision. That's what the forum is all about

I did a similar thiing to you, got as much info as I could from as many places as I could and made a decision from there. I too have a GTX3076 ready to bolt on along with 6Boost highmount etc etc, had the intention of using WMI but United now sell E85 so my plan has changed slightly. I for one will be very interested to hear how your tune goes, good luck!

Rs2000 are you going to run e85 ? And are you still running standard intake and exhaust manifolds ?

3katz e85 gtx 6 boost mani and external gate you would expect upper 300-400rwkw,

Rs is running internal

4bidn1 im going to get it tuned with 98, i have standard intake and exhaust manifolds for now.

I have the cash to replace them with aftermarket but wanna see how it comes back to me with the gtx3076 and a retune, i have bigger injectors so i can tune it for e85 anytime i please.

1 step at a time for me i guess.

I so badly wanna put a stall converter in, i think it would be deadly in an auto.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
