MagicMikeZ32
For larger turbos they make more difference than smaller IMO. I doubt you could even tell. Just like anything, work out what you want from a particular setup, and then research. And do it once, do it right. Much cheaper in the long run Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431233-mugabetown-whoretownin-at-its-worst/page/992/#findComment-7333391 Share on other sites
sneakey pete
My car doesn't do a good job selling journal bearings... But that could just be poor conpressor/turbine sizing choice. Much cheaper in the long run Well the highflow 34 turbo will do exactly what I want, the only difference is I have a place that will do it with ball bearings for $1350 or one from Hypergear with a thrust bearing for $860. sneakey pete
Might as well have gone a gt2867 brand new if you pay that much + cost of 34 turbo Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431233-mugabetown-whoretownin-at-its-worst/page/992/#findComment-7333588 Share on other sites

SCR48
Might as well have gone a gt2867 brand new if you pay that much + cost of 34 turbo A good hi flow option from hypergear that will bolt to stock manifold and dump can make more power than a gt28 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431233-mugabetown-whoretownin-at-its-worst/page/992/#findComment-7333647 Share on other sites
Cadmoon
A good hi flow option from hypergear that will bolt to stock manifold and dump can make more power than a gt28 This is what I was thinking, I can get a 34 turbo and highflow it for about $1000. Bunta
A good hi flow option from hypergear that will bolt to stock manifold and dump can make more power than a gt28+1 the small frame garrets are a pain in the ass to bolt up to an Rb and they probably have no more power potential. High flows are pretty under rated Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431233-mugabetown-whoretownin-at-its-worst/page/992/#findComment-7333663 Share on other sites
SCR48
Clint was running a ss1pu early model and made around 350hp from memory on pump98 fuel.. Hi flowed r34 turbo + e85 should see easy power with stock response. I'm my opinion it would make a perfect street daily. sneakey pete
remove and purchase -9 Pete or T51r or both lol But effort. Are they a direct fit to the stock manifold and dump Pete? I thought so? Again, i was comparing a hihg flowed ball baring turbo to it, not a hypergear journal bearing one. More making a point at what you're paying for if you go for a brand new one. Cadmoon
Yeah I agree Pete, I'm very much leaving towards the hypergear. I want to get an ecu and injectors capable of running e85 but running and running in pump 98 until I either get a second car or have e85 scalable locally.
