racin8
Any advise would be greatly appreciated...... My predicament ?.. I have a set of wheels on order ( 18x10 +15) but they won't be in for about 6 weeks unfortunately I am in desperate need of new tyres now. I am hoping to get some 275/35/18 but are unsure if they will rub without using spacers. From what I can see there isn't much clearance between the inside of the tyre and the upper arm as it is. ( currently 245/40/18) Any advice oh knowledgable ones ? Duncan
you mean to fit 275/35/18 on the stock 18x9" rims? That is safe fitment (ie 275 on 9" rim). Sorry I am not sure if 275 will create a clearance problem to the upper arm if stock offset, but it is only 1.5cm wider each side. If it does rub add some slip on spacers for a few weeks until you get the proper fitment wheels Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431587-max-tyre-width-to-fit-stock-34-gtr-rim-on-stock-setup/#findComment-7012032 Share on other sites
niZmO_Man
I put 265/35/18 tyres on my old R34 GT-R wheels. They were on my R32 GT-R and didn't rub, but I have -2deg/-1.5deg f/r camber. Why not get cheap tyres until your wheels arrive? Or you can look at stores like tempetyres, which do good tyres for cheap. GTR-34A
ive got 18x10.5 +12 aswell... i put on 295/30 and imo they are a perfect fit, nice and chunky, fluch with the wheels, fills the guards nicely and no scrubbing issues either. wether you could run them on standard gtr rims, i think they would be too wide Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431587-max-tyre-width-to-fit-stock-34-gtr-rim-on-stock-setup/#findComment-7013142 Share on other sites

niZmO_Man
BTW, you can run 265/35/18 easily on 10" wheel, so you can invest in a set of 265/35 (assuming you want to put the tyres on the new wheels when they arrive) then get 275/35 once the tyres are worn . GTR-34A
#@GTR-34A Your car is just boss though ha cheers mate. made a mistake in my post too.. my wheels are actually +15 aswell. What are you plans for the old wheels on your car? just try and find some either cheap rubber, or second hand rubber, then sell them off as a package once the new ones arrive? racin8
Thanks for all the tips fellas. I ended up getting hold of a set of rims from OTR ( TE37sl 18x10.5+15 ) And was able to offload those still on order. Ended up with 265/35/18 Advan Neova tyres I'm a very happy chap :-) Will post up a pic shortly Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/431587-max-tyre-width-to-fit-stock-34-gtr-rim-on-stock-setup/#findComment-7038725 Share on other sites
