Hey everyone,

I'm interested in peoples thoughts on products for detailing?

To be honest its always been a hobby of mine detailing my cars as well as friends and family's cars but iv always used the good old meguires but I'm keen on trying some new products and doing a more professional job. can anyone let me know what products you would recommend that would be fantastic. Also where would I get them as I currently live in Narre Warren Victoria ?

I was keen to find out quality brands for

car wash

clay bar

cutters

polish

wax

and a new set of buffing pads

Thanks again guys if you have any tips that would be good cheers

Dean

My current gear consists of...

Polishes and Compounds - Menzerna and Meguiars

Wax and Sealant - Chemical Guys, Dodo Juice, Optimum and Collinite

Engine bay cleaning - Autoglym

Clay - Clay Magic and Meguiars

Wheel cleaning - Bowdens Own, P21s and Sonax

Tyre Dressings - Meguiars and Bowdens Own

Car Shampoo - Meguairs and Bowdens Own

Plastics - 303 Aerospace for the inside and Black Wow for the outside

Glass - Meguairs and Rain-X

Buffing pads - Lake County and Edge

Lots of other brands I want to try but need to use up some of the current stuff first... want to look into the nano coatings next they are meant to be excellent, but at a price

Yeah there is no real "magic formula"...its all in application and the user...different combinations of products work for different people and different cars...

Shop around places like the Waxit website (has free/cheap delivery if you spend a certain amount) or your local panel supplies shops..There's at least 4 or 5 in Dandenong alone, if you want to try some different stuff...ask what they recommend and give it a try...

Pads come in many different sizes and shapes and textures as well...you wont know what works best for you till you try them all really ...

Currently im using Menzerna and Ammo products mostly and they work well, have tried the Scholl range and its very good too..I also still use Mothers/Megs and alot of other regular stuff from autobahn or wherever as well..depends on the job..and when i need the product..if its a sunday and you need it now...you have to make do with what you can get...

Just remember a good job is in the application as much as it is product... ;)
