hey guys selling my s15 and looking to get into a GTR ...had enough of SR20's . I found a nice white 97 series 3 GTR .....has done 100k's needs the major service done and few little bits and peices etc which is reflected in the price. Just want to know what else is their to look out for and wanting some feedback on the r33 gtr's ???

im looking at making it a super responsive streeter . So looking at some hks gt-ss turbos full exhaust tune etc. Any owners of 33 gtr's with any input or has anyone made this transition from sr20 to rb26 and regretted it???

seems good mate. but when someone doesnt list one bad thing on a n add, prepare for disappointment.

take some one who knows gtrs. and inspect the shit out of it.

yeah i went to look at it ....it needs the 100ks major service and has a blown exhuast gasket which makes a weird sound but reved it revs fine and went for a quick spin drives ok...i opened the oil cap looked inside its a little gunky...would that be a concern????

some bits you can use to determine past life and condition has being removed.

- R34 GTR wheel

- Gear nob, etc

make sure you check out the actual condition of the car and base your decision on that.

anyone buy a GTR in australia locally without a workshop check is stupid.

yeah thanks mate well i put a small deposit on the bassis i said i will need someone to check it over etc and he was happy with that and willing to adjust price accordingly.

just the problem of finding someone who knows their stuff to do this as organising the car to a workshop etc will be a major HF .

Anyone know of anyone in Adelaide who can do the check for cash???

Before you look at it, check if Import Monster still has their white series 3 for sale - It has likely already sold, but on the off chance it has not, check it out

If the 34 wheel is to hide the condition of the original wheel then the original one must be f#$ked!!! That things rooted!

Seems like a pretty good price though. It all looks pretty neat but you'd want to check for rust in the usual places (boot, bonnet hinge area, under front guard area). Not many mods which can be a good thing and a bad thing.

Airfares are cheap, and for the sake of buying from a trusted seller I would say its worth it - Hard to find one that hasn't been screwed with so this is good value at $20k

Yeah the steering wheel came already on car when from japan which i was skeptical but then roaming the web and searching globe-auto japans the GTR specialist i seen a few 33 gtr's for sale with the 34 gtr wheel ....

Surprised no-one has mentioned State Roads. Their inspections are very thorough and they have the equipment to check paint thickness (crash damage), radiator gasses (head gasket) and so on. Pretty well priced too.

contacted aaron to see if still available......if so will get a check done and hopefully can arrange freight if price is right

Yeah I put one in mine and they look a lot better (R33 GTR steering wheels are the same as a S15 steering wheel..... ).

I agree with the above though, the car at Import Monster looked amazingly straight and great price.

R33 GTR steering wheel is not the same as an S15 wheel, it's the same as an S14 wheel :)

I would take Aaron's 33 over the one on carsales in a heart beat - nobody replaces a 33 wheel with the most clapped out 34 wheel I've laid eyes on, unless they have a good reason, and fitting a beaten up wheel like that is not done for aesthetics, that's for certain.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
