Hey guys! I just wanted to let people know about a car show that I am helping to organise and run that is coming up on Sunday April 6th.

The show is the Hughes Charity Car Show and we are raising money for the NSW Rural Fire Service, every dollar we raise goes to the NSW RFS!

Entry for cars is $15, Spectators: Gold coin donation at the gate.

The day will revolve around a show and shine competition with 17 categories, including: Best Japanese Car on Display, Best Interior, Best Paintwork and a peoples choice category. Most cars entered will be in at least 5+ categories. There will also be a best club on display award so if any of the skyline clubs or even this forum wants to come down we can enter you in the club category!

Each category winner will be taking home $100 in prizes provided by our fantastic sponsors including: Shannons Insurance, Bankstown City Council, Panania Diggers, Torch Publishing, Queen St Customs, BP Milperra, RINCAP Automotive, Bennett Elder Smash Repair, Tyrepower Revesby, Peter Warren Ford, Peter Warren Jeep, Benchmark National Revesby and Villaggio Bar Cafe. The day is being put on and hosted by the Federal Member for Hughes, Craig Kelly MP.

It would be great to see a huge turn out from this forum in support of the NSW Rural Fire Service!

I talked last night at the Faulconbridge RFS Training Night last night and they're interested in developments.

The President is a HWP Officer.

And others are into cars too.

I think the officer you are talking about pulled me over not to long ago for a "RBT" talked to me about my GTR and sent me on my way.

Hey guys!

Great to see the enthusiasm!

I will give you some more info on myself and what we are hoping for:

I am coordinating the event on behalf of my boss, Craig Kelly MP, and it is up to me to get as many people there as possible and raise as much as possible! Working in politics means we need to raise huge amounts of money for election campaigns etc and after last year's election we were thinking that we should put those skills to good use and raise a ton of money for a community group or volunteer organisation, give something back to the community while raising awareness about those unsung heroes that are out there day in and day out lending a helping hand to those that need it.

Because our electorate (Hughes) covers from Liverpool to Sutherland, Bankstown to Heathcote we are pretty much an area that relies on the NSW Rural Fire Service each summer to protect homes and save lives, there are a lot of people in Hughes that are only still here because of the selfless work of RFS volunteers. So we thought what better organisation than that, so our boss tasked myself and another guy (big ford guy, has a 300kwt Xr8) to set up a charity car show that will raise some dough and get the community involved with helping out the NSW RFS, while also getting to see some awesome cars and maybe win some prizes!

I am also a car nut, I have a Supra that I get to the track in every now and again (and is about to have a single turbo put on it, shooting for 500rwhp) so I was more than happy to help put this together.

If you would like any more info please PM me or shoot me an email at [email protected] or check out the website www.hughescarshow.com

@ Terry:Currently we have a brigade from Menai coming down on the day with their trucks (and in yellows) and they are also helping out by collecting the money from spectators etc I think RFS head office at Granville was sorting that stuff out, I will also shoot you a PM. And as far as I know the HWP guys from around the bankstown area have been invited to come and show off a pursuit car and talk to people about road safety.

Cheers guys!

He's a Christian and also goes to the same Anglican church that I go to.

Two times he's pulled us over for RBT.

1) He asked how my GTR (at home) was going. I had to explain afterwards to Maria that he once looked it over after the church service

2) He said,"How's the GTR going?

Me: "It's going really well in places where it's legal!

He said, "Well, you should bring it over here!"

Me: "Well there are two ways you can take that Hahaaaa C U at church!"

At this point we are saying Wednesday 2nd April, however we are allowing people to send back the competed entry form and then pay on the gate. We just need to have an idea you are coming and to put you in certain categories etc etc

Going to have to check the work roster but I might he down for this.

Terry, is the club entering the event? It would be a good opertunity to promote SAU

Up for discussion Adam at the Exec perhaps.

Maybe anyone representing SAU will display this plate?

It would be great to see SAU NSW representing as a club at the show!

Also thought I would show you guys the run we got in the Bankstown Torch Newspaper

A big thank you to the Torch and the guys from Queen St Customs for bringing down CARTEL and the 911, and yes that is me in the middle, however that isn't my S2000, it belongs to my fiancee (the supra was not in good enough shape for a shoot!)

If anyone wants more info or entry forms please pm me or email at [email protected]

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
