I've been looking at all the previous posts on GTR turbo upgrades, Although it is very good seeing peoples results, its a real pain having to read through 3+ pages to see what the results are!!!

I'm considering an upgrade ATM, originally I was goign to get my stockers converted to steel wheels - But at a cost of $4000 for the pair, it is just about cheaper to go for something like HKS GT 2530, Trust T517Z(8cm) or Apexi ax5360....

Would it be possible to have a graph/poll made in sticky, showing at a glance what each person acheived???

It seems the 'simple' path to 320+rwkw is any of the above turbos + 700cc injectors + PFC + nismo/044 pump + front pipes + 3inch??? - All for the princely sum of around $7.5 in parts....

Anyone else have any thoughts???

will take you for a ride in mine tonite, and thats on a conservative tune of 14psi and that will give you an indication of what the 2530's are like (and mines built as a daily) :D

But I also wouldnt mind seeing a comparison of all the above mentioned turbos squished into one thread (e.g this one)

We were going to organise a dyno day down in Melbourne later in the year getting all the GTR owners with different turbo upgrades with similar power goals - 300-350kw @ wheels and dyno them all on the same day and have a definitive comparison.

I believe we have everything covered, from Trust T517z, HKS GT2530s, HKS GT-SS, APEXi AX5360s, as well as one high mount single turbo with the same power goal as the low mount options...

sounds good... any rough ideas on dates yet? im wanting to go to melbourne some time this year, maybe i could coincidentally plan it around the dates this is on and drop past for a look and put some faces to names of people off the forum

No dates yet..! > looks at Merli !! Must be a Melbourne Sydney thing, and Merli's gone the whole hog, as soon as his car & him are ready then a date should be set.

But Merli, you said the Apexi AX5360s have een covered?? Who's got these ? The only person I know who had these was Dean (vspecv) but haven't sen a dyno.

I know of a brand new set for sale ~$5K, apparantley these are meant to be better than all the above. I was looking at the Apexi's before the GT2530's, heard there were GTR's in the 10's running these turbos. But not many people new anything about them, so I stuck with the tried and tested GT2530's.

Hey what about the pov pack GTS? Maybe needs to be over a weekend, with one day at a dyno, the next at a track? Could make it an annual event! :D

Edit: Oh I sold a set of AX53B60's to a guy in Adelaide... maybe he might be interested in sharing his results (his girlfriend is on the forums)

meshmesh, I could have sworn someone spoke up in the last thread we were discussing this and said he had the APEXi turbos? I could be wrong! If I am, then we should try to find someone with them :D

I should have my car back in 3-4 weeks, so give me a bit of time to run it in, and get it tuned and then we'll be good to go!

Doughboy, obviously anyone is welcome to participate... Even if it is with a silly GTS :) :)

Yeah guys, we will hold a dyno day in the very near future between the Melb boys, and another one later in the year for the boys in Sydney to come down...

So far for the Melb one we have the following combinations:

- HKS 2530's

- Trust T517Z's (8cm2, yes that's right, thought I had the 10cm2, but it is confirmed I have the 8's)

- Nismo N1's

Will keep you guys posted with results, stay tuned!!!!

    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
