Are we welcome even if not insured by shannons anymore?

Nah man sorry. Members only.

Lol just kidding, of course you can come! We don't discriminate at all. We might just give you dirty looks and whisper about you when you aren't looking. (again I'm kidding)

It should be a good day. These days have been getting bigger and bigger since we had our first one December last year.

  • 3 weeks later...

Since there was a bit of a turn out last open we had, we figured lets do it again!

Where: Shannons Canberra Branch 20/2 Yallorn St Fyshwick (directions below)

When: 31st May 2014

Same as last time, a informal car display so you can come and go as you please. Not like other shows where you are locked in until 2pm. There will be a coffee van, and I think the Celica club may be doing a BBQ again.

Also, coffee is free again :woot:

Directions: If you know where the United servo is in Fyshwick (for those of you running e85 you should know) we are located just behind that. Easiest way to get into the carpark, turn onto the driveway inbetween the car wash, and the British Paints shop and head straight up and see the giant green Shannons sign. There will be plenty of signage around for the driveway.

Do they have this type of get together in other areas, I am in the Mid North Coast ?

Cheers

They're starting to bring it in in Melbourne as well. Don't know about elsewhere.

This is something they've been doing in the US for years.

From what I have heard, the US ones are a little bit bigger than ours. They expect around a 200 - 300 car turn out. I was talking to a hot rodder guy that went over to the US, and said one of their smaller BBQ meets filled a football stadium.

Thanks , so not in my area

Are there other Skyline clubs in the Mid North coast. Had a quick look but I am on snail mail at the moment, my girls used up all the GBs :w00t: bloody kids ,haha

I think Shannons have some Hot Rod get togethers and Vintage, maybe I will look into those ?

Computer back in action on the 14th, so I can go back to searching

But maybe someone can point me in the right direction

Cheers

If you want info on shows and clubs in your area, check out the Shannon's Club (shameless plug)

http://www.shannons.com.au/club/

There is plenty of stuff on there, although I think most of the events posted are the ones that we sponsor. But there are also contact details of different clubs, so it's worth an ask to find out more.

    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
    • EMU Classic. For what I need it to do I see no reason to upgrade. Link and Haltech would both cost an extra chunk of money for a lot of unutilized features
