They close roads in the area and about 1 km radius becomes no parking zone

Still going ahead. Do you think the local businesses would be impressed if they couldn't have their customers Park everytime there's a football game? Or cricket match? Or etc? There will be spots around.

the area they police during games is pretty big, I wanted to come for this but game night means a cut down menu and too many AFL f@gs, why does AFL ruin nice things

I would call the GC about parking there, I am pretty sure they cash in on game days and charge $20 or only allow full financial members (not the social members like most of us) to park there.
