As always, sorry if this has been covered but be blowed if I could find it.

Looking for a company that actually gives a shit about doing a good front end alignment. Been to several places and walked out on most and still looking for a good one.

Must be a good one or 2 somewhere!

Cheers

My V35 is very skittish at the moment and following every contour in the road. I recently had an alignment done but feel that there may be play in the steering that may needed attention first. Trouble is, that unless the mechanic gives a hoot, they just spanner some angles in and take your money.

I will give Trutrack a Burl and see what happens.

Thank you! :-)

TruTrack in North Melbourne have always done mine, very happy with the service. They can do low cars, eccentric bushes, adjustable arms etc. etc.

went here once, got totally ripped off. got the same thing done at tyre power north Melbourne for more than half off trutracks price.

Can you post up your last alignment sheet please

What explanation did the alignment shop give

It's worth having a good look underneath to make sure nothing is loose

As mentioned by Sonicii what if any change to suspension/steering components do you have so that adjustments can be made

What rim/tyre size combination are you running

Has your vehicle been in an accident

When you drive it do you test on the same road or different

Is it just tracking, twitchy at speed or overly light and responsive for you

IMHO and as mentioned above one reason for Tracking can be caused by incorrect toe and/or excessive tyre width

All viable questions and have been through those first. Last aligner did not issue a sheet and when asked, said they did not record it at the time so not available.

Tyres and suspension are all standard spec although the wheels are aftermarket. And play is coming from the front not the rear. Car has not been crashed except for a roo in the front panel which went over the car.

I will take onboard the comments about price and will get quotes before the job.

Will let you know what is found.

Trutrack were good as claimed earlier, although it really felt like a goldleaf service at invoice time.

Car had been set up with 2mm toe all round and that was as Sonici prediced.

After bringing it all back to about 1mm at each corner and deciding the shockies had hammer, it feels so much better.

Would love to go further with performance bits etc but my V35 is a DD and having previously track tuned a DD to the point that it was not good on the road, standard she will stay.

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
