What's the logic there? Pump stops pumping? OR that it pumps at low pressure and the motor runs lean? (I run a wideband and have the knock reading on the SAFC as the main reading when driving.

I'd of thought that if a drop in fuel pressure was going to blow my motor up it would have happened already with the few times I've had fuel surge issues and misfired because of it.

In which case I'd do the same thing as I did then, stop driving.

Not disagreeing, just opening up for discussion.

Just thinking, should I also be considering an adjustable regulator or do I just assume the stock one is fine?

I'm also on the fence about whether this Bosch pump will flow enough fuel, I realise the kpa ratings are within the limits I need (supposedly 300kpa base fuel pressure plus another 120 or so to account for boost) but the LPH just looks so low.

Any issues with mounting the surge tank in this location?

Hole in the spare wheel well for hoses.

The surge tank plate prohibits me putting it in the wheel well without decent modification and new fittings between the pump and surge tank.

Here's my surge tank located in a wagon - so I have had to make a steel cover for it.

Do you guys know what the rules are on sealing the boot in? I'm planning on using just an aluminium sheet over the rear firewall, do I need to cover the parcel shelf also as it has those speaker holes. I assume so?

    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
