I was reading this on autospeed...

this phrase was very true... I was dong some stupid thing when I saw GTR on the road.

Seeing a real-life GT-R makes people do weird things - basically, it encourages everyone on the road around you to act like total dickheads. Geminis, Pulsars, Commodore sixes and the like - they all want to race you! Rrrrrm, right up close behind your bumper...not good for the nerves! Own a GT-R and you're constantly stressing about potential theft or vandalism to your baby.

I know what you mean mate... I've only had my car on the road for 2 weeks and I've been hassled so many times already. Even bikes want a run these days. I couldn't resist temptation the other day too, had to put a bloke on a "smaller" bike in his place.

I thought it was bad when I had my Rex, but having the R is definitely worse.

In Sydney, I think that most modded car owners have similar problems.

Other "HERO" modded car owners see Ur car cruising on the streets and think its fast and furious time.

Park a modded car anywhere and pray that car thieves dont steal Ur car.

GTR owners should be the most concerned, but since we dont want to drive CAMRYS ( lol ONARUN......dig Ur leather seats btw:)

Owning a modded car has its drawbacks, but we wouldnt have it any other way....would we?

It's the total oposite for me, no one even looks at me when I'm driving in my R (must be a really ugly sod :D)

Although when I visited a fellow GTR owner last weekend in the Northern suburbs of Perth I had 3 different cars semi-try me out at three consecutive sets of lights. When they saw I wasn't trying the kept on driving. Must be a lot of hoons up that way eh Chris, Micko and Ken ??:D

when taking on the exel crew i find a good rv at the light gee's them up to think they r in a race and when they tear off tyres ablaze you just solwely take of.

it works for all cars and when you pull up to the next set of light just look em in the face and laugh your pants off

in bankstown this gets some of the best rections youll find,

and if this doesnt jack em off enough while at the second lights crank your seat down to almost flat open your window stick your hand out at start screaming fully sik at em)

now i want everyone to try it cause its funny

i do it regularly. noone has come after me yet but im waiting

petes

well, i must admit i am guilty of racing cars in my 4wd. I only do it for some fun... :D

but.. the best thing to do is pretend that u r actually going to race the lancer/excel revving it up next to u, but dont... they take off like a bat out of hell, and u dont even try. They feel like fools afterwards :D

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
