Hi Guys,

I recently moved from SA and I need to find a tuner that is trustworthy and in particular; knowledgeable with Nistune (RB20 ECU running a RB25DET, EPROM program/new features etc.) E85 etc.

I live in Springfield and work near Beenleigh. Willing to travel to get the best result.

Thanks in advance.

I currently am running 100% E85. But I'm thinking it would be more convenient to go flex in the near future. The United Race Blend E85 is another curveball (which will depend on price and them not running out all the time).

My car has been tuned without VCT. So the first thing I need is a tuner to tweak the tune with VCT on and then I can set the window switch at the optimal cross over. It's so doughy down low as you can imagine.

To compound matters my exhaust manifold is slightly cracked. So I’ll probably get a 6boost (high mount) so new pipe work and maybe turbo? Waste gate? The list goes on and never stops ;)

Got my R32 gtr with nistune done on E85 at EFI, they seem to have done a great job and the car runs well. So plus 1 for EFI I guess.

The 107 octane race fuel variant from united seems interesting, though I don't think i'd go for it as it'd limit the areas you could refuel way to much for a street car I think. Also because i'm getting valve float and I wouldn't really gain much more top end with it.

That being said, would be great for more dedicated track cars, or in a flex setup if you were content to spend a lot of your time on 98.

What switch do you have for VCT with RB20 ECU? Something external or a tweak?

If you want a good starting point then turn VCT on at 1200rpm and off at 4800rpm. It might not be perfect but will be much better than what you have and probably a bees dick off optimal.

    • We have a huge update coming in the next few months, version 5 of Invision will be released. I'm holding off any changes until after this change as I'm not sure what features will be removed or introduced.
    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
