thats what i was originally going to do. I sent them an email clearly saying what i was after and it was like i got an automated response saying to send my turbo in. I clearly stated thats not what i wanted to do as the car can not be off the road that long at the moment. So i figured if they cant answer an email properly what is the service actually going to be like... So yeah thats why im looking at other options.

Looks like a garret 3071r has come up at a really good price with dump pipe and braided lines etc. I think i might grab that as thats what the tuner recommended new. Also comes with the adapter flange for low mount.

yeah they're a good turbo.. GTX? or GT? and what rear housing?

Also who's your tuner? curious.

One thing that caught my attention here is that you say it comes with an "adapter flange". By adapter, do you mean a spacer (typically 10mm) so compressor housing clears the manifold?

Reason I ask, is that I believe some GT3071s were sold with cropped turbines and a T25 flanged housing (your RB25 stock manifold has a T3 flange). If this turbo you're looking at has a T25 flange and using an adapter to T3, you might want to think twice about it.

It's probably just me being paranoid on your behalf, but thought I'd ask anyway.

Yeah mate wrong term thanks for the concern. Its definitely a spacer for clearance. Picked it up came with everything. dump, front pipe, braided lines and all pretty bloody cheap. I just hope its in as good as condition as it looks. Its what you get second hand but saved my self a heap.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
