Just curious as to the *current* fuel economy \ consumption of V35's driven by SAU Forum Members...

If you would like to list your average fuel economy + any supporting mods (in the below format) - I believe this would be very interesting for all to see.

I'll start off with mine ;)

  • 2003 V35 350GT Coupe
  • 5 Speed Automatic
  • Custom Catback Exhaust
  • 'Spirited' Daily Driver - Urban Areas
  • Average 14.7 L per 100km

2005 V35 350GT Sedan

6sp Manual.

Stock.

Daily Driver - 100% light city/urban - mostly sedate driving with the occasional hammering.

Approx 10.7L per 100km. but will probably pop up to around 11 with summer coming and heavy AC use..

yeah.. when I saw what everyone else was seeing a while back, i thought my Odo might be inaccurite, so I did a check with a GPS and there was just under a 1% difference between the GPS and my odo.

And I always measure economy by how much fuel it takes between fills and Odo reading. I don't have Navi, so no electronic display of economy.

I don't have the premium model, so I cant see the fuel usage. Off a full tank, I usually get around 500-550km which is in relatively stop-start traffic. This is fantastic compared to my previous BA XR6 and comparable to what I was got from my Mitsu 380

I don't have navi either. Just fill the tank, reset one of the trip meters. On the next refill, note how much fuel it took and divide by number of KM showing on the trip meter. Multiply the answer by 100, and you have L/100km.

Not a V35 but a Pm, but I like to put in my 2c on this topic.

PM35

5 speed auto

Stock except for K&N filter in the stock air box.

Light outer city/suburban driving in adelaide.

Mobil 1 5W/30 Full synthetic oil.

Last 4 fills averaged between 9.9l/100km - 10.30l/100km. (Actual Figures). No A/C used on those trips except for 1 day when it hit 38.

I think I could do better when I get cruise.

Using BP Ultimate or Mobil PULP.

Trip computer is more generous but not real world. I havent worked it out yet but think it works on a 'sliding scale' than by actual 'fuel usage'. IDK.

Just worked it out based on Sonicci's scientific calculations- 11.71 l/100km

03 5 speed auto

stop start traffic and minimal aircon use

Partial to the odd squirt here and there...

The last refill would have likely been better as the last 2 weeks have been terrible for traffic...

Hi guys

I average around 9.7L/100Km, 70% freeway and 30% suburb driving.

I do not floor it and change the gears around 2500-3000rpm and whenever possible,

I run it on the 6th gear (sometimes skip from 3rd or 4th to 6th) keeping the rev low.

Been driving manual cars for a few years that way and never had any problem.

Best fuel economy was done for fun hypermiling (turning the car off on long traffic lights and railway crossings, driving 10-15Km/h slower etc, saw on Mythbusters haha)

and did 9.35L/100Km.

Caltex 98 Vortex gives me the best fuel economy for me. BP is the worst..

Caltex 95 Vortex is pretty good too but I rarely use it unless the servo does not have 98 and I'm desperate for fuel.

Spec:

2003 V35 Coupe MT, non-premium.

Mods are: TE37 wheels, Fujitsuo Legalis R and Y-pipe exhaust and.. running without spare tyre and the tool (around 25Kg saved lol).

Awesome that someone else believes in 'Hypermiling'!

Way to go Alan :) We're not alone then.

I've bought 2 LED Display Signs so then I could say 'Hypermiling Testing' so that people don't stick up my arse on a dual lane highway.

Like wtf, overtake already you moron!!!

Here are my specs.

Before the km per L to L per kms conversion (which was done only 2 weeks ago).

Before that I could reach 16.7km per L on the Pacific Highway when I purchased the vehicle from Brisbane!!!

Mixed Driving Full Tank To Empty: 630km!

Majority of Highway Touring Full Tank To Empty: 813km-830km!

Near Full Tank To Near Empty With AC Running Majority of Fast Highway Driving: 850km!

Majority of Super Fast Highway Driving: 875km!

Highway Touring Full Tank To Empty: 932km-970km!

Extreme Economy Highway Throttle Stabilization Full Tank To Empty: 1,024km (70-77km p/h @ 14.8km/L-15.7km/L)!

Now with the conversion (I have only been able to get city driving stats so far, as I haven't been interstate with the conversion yet)!

I am getting 10.36L/100kms city driving.

But my mums 2002 model with 34,500kms does 7.87L/100kms on the highway (80%) with 20% being city.

@ Paul

WTH over 1000KM!!! That is for sure extreme! haha

Didn't try full freeway drive yet as never travelled more than 350Km with the car. but confident mine can make 900Km easily.

We do not need a hybrid car haha

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
