Put me down for one of the UH-042's as well if it helps bolster the numbers on the order. I have sold the jaycar unit to a friend.

If we ALL get the Uniden UH-042's we can use the Selective calling feature which will mean you can cut all the external chatter out and only recieve calls from guys on the cruise - cool huh? :P

As for teh handhelds, I saw these in Dickies for $98, accessories are extra of course. For a saving of $5 i'm gonna pick one up next time i'm down there hey :)

There are three models available:

UH-037 About $80

UH-040 About $98

UH-042 About $140

As for the vox headsets, they retail for $97. I can get a price tomorrow but they will still be very expensive.

We need to confirm numbers & how we can do the deal - let me know of any ideas. Note that I will be going to Busselton on Thursday to visit the folks so the best time to do it would be tomorrow.

Didnt i see a headset on jaycar for like 11.95??

Hey i got an old pair of headfone that fit a plane u reckon this thing would have jacks for it ahh... wait a minute, i might look like a bit of a tool driving with a bigass headset on:uh-huh:

Macka - vox is a 'feature' of the unit, but you need the headset to suit. I am pretty sure that there is an aftermarket headset to suit but there is no stock in WA. I really don't think that the headsets are a good op;tion though due to their expense & I wouldn't think that you guys will be on the radio all the time - if you are it will cost you a fortune in batteries anyway.

I would be happy to get the stock to PVA (if that it OK with you Joe) & you guys can give him the money on the weekend.

Just a thought re the UHF radios guys:

We (err - I mean DSE) are getting some 'home brand' UHF's in soon that have the vox capability & will be much cheaper than the Uniden products but with the same performance. Might be a more cost effective option as I am sure that the price my contact can do will be very good indeed.

My recommendation: wait a few weeks till they come through & save some moolas:D

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
