M35 Rear Glass Window - How Much Does It Cost? Nissan Bending Me Over.

Long story short, wasnt paying attention in car park - looking at reverse camera and not out the windows. Happened at Westmead Childrens carpark on split lvl.

so will cost me roughly $1515.80 to fix where my insuarance will only cover $1000 and I have to foot the rest. Currently no wreckers have stagea rear windows.

Is this normal price coming from nissan brand new including install. 6-8 week leadtime.

Going thru insurance preferred agent, apparently none in sydney wreckers. Im told.

Unlesss someone has one in Sydney - I'll call around just to make sure there is none before i order off nissan.

It's almost as if you didn't read that Scotty has one that you can buy for a shiteload less than buying through Nissan?

I bet you could have it shipped from Melbourne to Ryde pretty easily too.

thanks guys for your response, problem with shipping glass / fragile item is that most normal transport company wont gurantee insure it unless you use a company that specialise in fine arts ( apparently ) I have used something similar for transporting Servers and they arnt cheap.

BTW - I did give Scotty a call.

The thought of driving to Melb myself did cross my mind, but im dealing with the insurance preferred agent. This is the first accident i have had in 15 years ( 10yrs in R33 and 4yrs in M35 )

I could have met you at the border and done the dodgy deal in a truck stop. lol.

With enough bubble wrap or blankets I am sure it would have made it fine. This way you would have got the whole window in the frame with switch, hinges etc, not just the glass.

      BTW, level up linking and @-ing, thanks David I actually don't have much to add, except that I have seen electrical gauges "off the scale" due to some sort of mechanical issue that work properly again after freeing up....sounds like that might be what happened here...

      Howdy all, A mate of mine picked up an R32 GTS-T recently and it had a very... colourful... gear knob that needed to be replaced immediately 🤣 I put together a replacement which is reminiscent of the Nismo offering, which I also really like both the feeling and design. I basically took what they did and optimising for 3D printing, with the exception of the top chamfer, where I prefer a filleted design, despite it not printing quite as clean. If anybody needs another thread size for the locker or if you prefer a top chamfer similar to the Nismo one, I'm happy to put something together for you and as a side note, I was really impressed by the TPU lock nuts. Originally I was going to use steel and then found out the ones I had on hand were sadly M10 1.5 pitch, rather than the required M10 1.25 pitch, so I had to get a bit creative rather than wait for the bolt shop to open. In the picture it looks a little bit 'rough' at the top due to the layering printing on a curve, but in reality it's not very noticeable at all and honestly feels pretty good in the hand. https://www.printables.com/model/910138-nissan-skyline-r32-gear-knob Regards, Sean

      R32 fuel gauge definitely stays at the current reading when turned off. It will not show a new reading (ie if it was low and you just filled up) until it is turned on, at which point it should sweep from empty to full in only a few seconds.
