Hi guys, so my battery died today and once I jumped the car found the boost controller settings was reset. All I remember was that it was set on Hi setting with dyno sheet showin 19psi that was set by the tuner. Now I've searched the forums and google but couldn't find anything close to my setup. I have stock motor with cam gears, exhaust, haltech platinum pro ecu, -5 turbos. Was making about 290kw at the wheels.

Can any one with a similar setup help me with the settings? I've taken a wild guess below, are they close?

Set: 30%

gain: 10%

set gain: 100kpa(14.5psi)

warning: 150kpa (22psi)

limiter: 10%

last highest boost reading was 158kpa(23psi)

Any help would be much appreciated, as I don't want loose performance or blow up the motor, please help!

You won't need to tune the engine, just need to get the boost controller set up again.

FWIW, the settings you listed above will probably get you most of the way there. Just make the Set value give you the max boost you want and adjust the gain value up or down to deal with boost rise or drop off in the top end. Adjust Set Gain to give you how aggressively it comes on.

Just make small adjustments and drive it around until you're happy with it.

Thanks guys, gonna drive around with the basic settings then and ring the tuner on monday. Hopefully they have the settings stored on their computer. Just surprised the boost controller doesn't store settings with battery disconnected.

It does store the settings with power/no power, etc. I've had the same boost controller.

The control unit only has 2x wires for power, GND and IGN - there's no constant power.

You could easily figure out how to set it yourself, the lower the GAIN the "lazier" it comes onto boost, the higher the GAIN the "harder" it comes onto boost but will have the tendency to spike.

SET just determines how much boost you want to run, please note SET the scaling does not equate to any boost figure.

Hi guys, so I spoke to the tuner and they were happy to help, we went for a quick drive and he adjusted the value within 5 mins and no charge as well. Seems my initial guess was close, set was bumped up to 37%, gain 20%, and limiter 5% so boost don't drop too much when it hits peak. I've recorded the values for future references.

Thanks to you guys for all the help!!

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
