2015 SauQld Annual Skyline Charity Cruise

Description:

It's that time of year again ladies and gentlemen, the Annual Skylines Australia QLD Charity Cruise!

This year we are helping out the Beyond Blue.

We will be meeting at the the Nerang train station car park. We will also be holding several raffles with profits going to Beyond Blue.

As this is a charity cruise we will be asking for a minimum donation of $20 per car.

Being a cruise, there is to be no speeding or unlawful behaviour. The club will be on public display and anyone caught breaking the rules will be asked to leave.

This is a great cause and year after year we are able to demonstrate our strength as a group and assist those less fortunate in a positive manner.

Come along for the ride and have a great day!

Location:

We will be meeting at the the car park at Nerang train station and cruising out to Darlington Park for a BBQ lunch. The BBQ will be a gold coin donation and we will also have cold drinks available, all profits from the BBQ will also be donated to Beyond Blue.

The cruise route is available HERE

Date:

Sunday, the 19th of July.

Time:

9 AM arrival at the meeting point for a 10 AM departure.

Cost:

$20 per car plus any fuel/food you use/eat.

Requirements:

This is one of the only events we run with vehicle requirements but as this is a Skyline charity cruise we do have several.

Your car must meet 2 of the following 3 requirements:

1. Be manufactured by Nissan/Infiniti/Datsun/Prince

2. Be sold as a Skyline

3. Be powered by an RB engine.

Eg: A Nissan Silvia powered by an RB25 would be eligible as it meets two criteria

A Toyota Supra powered by an RB26 would not be as it meets one criteria only

The only exemption to these requirements is the R35 GT-R.

Let's all join together and make this huge!

Look forward to seeing you there.

  • 4 weeks later...
  • 2 weeks later...

If I've worked out my rotating 2 week eoster I believe I'm not working that weekend, so at this point in time im in, looking like atleast 2 tanks of fuel for this chariety cruise. The hike from home to the start point is longer then the actual cruise. XD

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
