hey all, just found this forum, I have also just purchased an 89 cefiro fresh off the boat from Jap, stock as a rock ('cept exhaust) white auto.

I will be doing things a little different from most of you here (setting up for drift) I intend to bag it and pimp it out a big for a kewl cruiser. I have built a bagged rodeo (previous ride) but got sick of having a tray so I went looking for a saloon with some balls and smooth looks.... enter cefiro! some nice wheels and underbody sitting on pavement is what she needs. should have the stockers ceffy rollin into the driveway in 1 week.

will post some pics when it gets here.

kursed, j-spec just brought in a 1988 maxima from japan, with hydraulic kit. It was a hopper with some aggressive hydro's.

But yeah, welcome to the club, hopefully we can make this place the definitied A31 place to be

If there's any jap info about the A31 you guys wanna know then let me know.

i rang around a few places today, thinking about insurance and the fact i usually get laughed at, but tonight I got good surprise.

Shannons offered to insure my cefiro for $835 a year full comp. the next closest quote was just cars at $2314...........

its listed as a weekend driver (up to 8000kms a year) when I get near that limit (as I know i will) they will upgrade it to unlimited kms for around $1200 a year.

thanks for the welcome too people, good to know there are a few cefiros out there.

and yes i know white is furken boring, bear with me, my previos ride started off white, pretty soon it was sunkist orange! now that makes the chrome stand out... lemme know if anyone wants to see it and i will find a pic and post it..

Hi everyone

Been waiting for this moment on english forum for A31. seen the Thai version with great pictures but had problems with the language. I have own this model for 4 years now with minimum mods like HKS filter, JIC Bullet exhaust, RB25 turbos, 17" volk racing rims, R32/Z32 Calipers. Previously was on Tein HR suspension but almost rattle my brains to bit from wher I come from...Malaysia. Change them back to Tokico standard shocks and Tein S-Tech springs, still not satisfied with the handling. 320km/h Speedometer and great sound system. It's still an auto since the traffic here can be rather terrible at times.

Would post my pic once I get hold of a digital camera......

Anyway it's been great to have a dedicated forum for A31 Cefiro cause it's really a wonderful car to drive and a real sleeper until they only see the exhaust pop from the rear! :)

looks good and welcome!!!

Yeah get us some more pics if u can :) where did u get the 320kmh speedo? does it replace the existing one? thats one of the first things i want to get rid of in mine.

    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
    • 1.05 you’ve gotta let it breath
    • You have to continuously fill it to avoid dry running. Personally the transmissions I've serviced have never been bad enough to justify doing this because it is definitely a pretty complicated and somewhat risky procedure compared to simply draining the pan, measuring what came out, then refilling with the exact same amount.
