Thought it might be useful to share ways to watch Japanese TV down under. We use an android Tv box (skystreamX) that i purchased thinking that it did a lot more. It quoted that 1000's of channels were available but i found it hard to use and content hard to find.

I stumbled across an Ebay ad for a subscription to Japanese iptv streaming from the internet using android Tv boxes. They offered a 24 hour free trial on each of there 4 packages,The first one worked well and gave around 38 channels. quality was as good as regular tv and didnt get any buffering on our 5-10Mbps connection. However we had an issue with my android box and their log in system so it wasnt any good for us. Tried 24 hour trials of the next 2 services they offered "ihome" and "ihome 2". one of them was ok but buffered often and was no playback capabilities. the other had a terrible pictures and very pixelated.

Finally tried the final option called "World TV" after a successful trial we purchased a subscription about 9 months ago for $180 US for 12 months. We have 38 free to air channels, Tokyo and Kansai, and 12 Fox channels that have either japanese subtitles or voiceovers. i mostly watch J Sports 1,2,3,4, BS tsuri vision(24hr fishing) and fox discovery, science and history. The kids get into Animax and Disney a bit. Quality is as good as regular tv, and if the interent speed drops away then the picture drops back a level until the speed picks back up. Have only had 1 day so far the system has been down.

Shows are usually 20 seconds - 2 minutes delayed, and we have a 5 day playback function. I was after this for a long time before finding what seemed like a real product and not a gimmick. There are a lot of interesting shows on and will definetely be renewing our subscription shortly when it comes around again.

I'll search for a link to what i have incase anyone wants to give the trial a go. If anyone is using a different service feel free to share and compare.

Trev

thanks for that....I'll have to add, a lot of JPN tv is fkn weird. Entertaining, but fkn weird. Although they did have a wide range of adult entertainment available on the hotel room tv, which went unused but was appreciated nonetheless.

Their commercials make absolutely no sense and are still better than the shit here.

See this woman, she is in a candy forrest having the time of her life with a 6' ambiguous furry animal.

Then the logo for Softbank appears and no sense was made.

A year on an curiosity got the better of me. Thanks to t_revs I tried Isakura on android box. The website to get it from is https://japannettv.com and you can either buy an android box through them or download the app if you have one already (I think you can do for PC also).

It was suggested I go for a 3 day trial for USD$4 to see if it worked for me and that the quality was acceptable. I was a little doubtful as I have poor luck with tech stuff working for me, but I gave it a shot and wouldnt-ya-know-it; it worked! 75 Channels of the normal free to air plus a bunch of pay TV channels and quite cost effective if you were to buy the longer packages.

Hey t_revz, thanks for the recommendations. I had a search online for World TV but could find what you were referring to. Would you mind sharing a link

Japannettv.com

We use iSakura Plus
Great. Would you say that the image is good on a large 55" LED TV if you have NBN/fast internet? As good as normal TV

We have a 55" tv and it's equal to normal to quality.

Do a 3 day trial and see what you think

Recently I found a Japanese tv live service called fujitv it is good for me so far. I bought a mi box to connect with my TV set in order to watch in a larger screen. Actually I still could watch tv channel on PC with fujitv.live website, but I prefer Bigger screen. ;-)

When it comes to installing process, I have much to say.  it is not complex. Useful for newbies, though. Just use an USB thumb drive with fujitv.apk and insert it into the USB port on MI box. Then open up Google Play Store first and install an APP called ES File Explore. After installation, choose ES File Explorer to view the files and you will be able to browse content on the drive and install the fujitv.apk. Once the fujitv app was downloaded, it was very smooth with live streaming of channels and easy to navigate.

I live in Germany and have 6-7 time difference, therefore it is necessary to have the playback feature. 7-days playback is good but it would be perfect if it offers 10- days playback. In addition to the playback, HD quality makes it so clear.  No delay, no clutter and no stuck in the picture.  I plan to use it in the long run.

In foreign countries, the most miss is the hometown familiar accent, cordial and warm, this is especially important when you are alone., after work or after school,  look at home news, listen to home broadcast, is also a happy thing.
I am in the United States, recently I found a lot of Japanese TV Live app, but most of them have to buy directly, there is no free to try to watch, who can recommend a Japanese IPTV service  which i can trial watch free, if my needs are met, I will subscribe.

My Japanese friends tell me this is a good service www.myplanettv.com Specialising in iSakura TV and plans offering  24 to 96 channels available on monthly or annual subscription. They even offer a 3 day trial for a few bucks and watch on their PC but IOS and Android Box are also available.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
